Paradox Interactive games

I do remember that in one of the development diaries (used to showcase game features), Stalingrad was placed in western Ukraine or some area like that on the Hearts of Iron 3 map. If they can make an atrocious error like that, I'm almost positive that there are many more cases of erroneous geography, besides mere ugliness.

Ah, but Paradox didn't make the Victoria II map; it was a community mod for the first game that Paradox took over and tweaked. And then they imported the coastlines into EU3 for Divine Wind, while retaining the incredibly stupid EU3 borders.

King's already said that Paradox doesn't give a rat's ass about geography, unfortunately.

Fine, I amend my previous statement: I can't believe Paradox can't use the same map they have already copied from modders and put it into HoI3. :D

Can't say I'm an expert on the WW2 Eastern Front, so I've never looked if Stalingrad was moved to its proper location in-game or if its still off.

I believe they fixed it, since the outcry was pretty big. I'm pretty sure there's still some errors though.

The DDs seem to come out at a slow rate, but it seems like work is progressing. The forums over at Paradox Plaza are active. Don't know too much else myself.

Yes, Stalingrad's position was adjusted some time ago. The latest (v3.05) FTM patch also tweaks a few more European provinces, mostly in the Netherlands.

Once they get basic borders right (eg completely wrong borders for Afghanistan, fugly borders pretty much all over the map even in their precious Europe), then we can talk about the details.

ParadoxInteractive published also Nitro Game Pirates of Black Cove
You can play that with the 2 patches they gave out after alpha Release

I won already

Just out of curiosity, which one of Paradox's games would you guys recommend right now?

To a beginner. I don't know if someone already mentioned it, or asked recently, but I don't want to go through 40 pages of posts.

Edit: I read that a lot of their games had steep learning-curves, but they all seem to also have tutorials now, I don't know if that fixes the problem or not.
Which game would you say is the best in terms of quality?

Ill give you some Reccomendations but you have your own taste or dont yu?
Pirates of black cove
Majesty 2 (or 1)
King Arthur
EU3 Divine Wind (latest version)

But they seem to have many many games to publish I know only a part of them, several games

I would say I have my own taste, but you know, when moving into a different "type" of game, you need to know where to start.

I would suggest HoI2, but it's a bit old (good game, though Darkest Hour is better). EU3:Chronicles (latest beta patches) is probably the best place to start.

yeah they publish mostly strategic games but also some with widened RPG effects

Heart of Iron series yeahh is surely their most reknowned prestigious product together with Europa Universalis series or the older Crusader Kings and Crusader Kings 2 on its way to finished shipping

not to forget Victoria 1 and 2

The reason I asked was because I can't seem to find it in stores anywhere, or atleast with an online search for stores that sell it. I guess I'll download it online, I just like the feeling of having a box, or a CD to re-install in case something goes wrong.

Can you do that with these downloads? Re-install/re-download if something goes wrong? I guess the question sounds stupid, I've just never actually downloaded something like this over the internet before.
