Wow, you guys really hate Macs, huh? They really are better though. Their marketing sucks but if they would have licenced and sold their OS (instead of letting Microsoft steal a create a bastardized version of it, ..cough.. Windows) they would have a good 40-80% of the market instead of their dwindling 6%. Oh well.
I also agree that most iMacs are pretty fruity looking, thats why I got the all white kind. Its by far the fastest machine I've ever had.
Windows sucks!! Version 3 sucked. Version 95 sucked. And it still sucks! "Recycle Bin", give me a break

Well the general inefficiency of the macs I have used put me off these appalling machines for good.
If they are so great why don't they have their own Operating System?

Like I said, Apple's marketing sucks. Seriously though, the only reason most of you probably like PCs better is because you are used to them and your only perception of the Mac is their external design and the fact that they think they're better (which they are
).There are problems with less software being available for Mac, but shoot, I got Civ II, I got the web, e-mail, music, a bunch of other games, I can't complain. Theres also alot of unique software for Macs unavailable for PCs. Ah well, you can lead a horse to water but...

WTH? Obvious proof that you have no clue as to what you are talking about.
There is a really good reason that Apple's brand loyalty is unapproachable to PC makers.
For everyone who complains about software compatibility... how many programs do you actually have? How many do you use? Most of you don't have the money for more than a few pro-priced programs anyway.
Once you go Mac, you don't go back!
And by the way, I hate the switch commercials.

Theres nothing particulary wrong with Mac's, and in Graphic Design it is THE standard..... much like the opposite of what was said above for market share, for Mac's (in the design industry) would be close to 90%.
There is only one big downfall in the MacOS for my uses is FONTS!!

But note that Mac OS-X is Free-BSD, which is closer than a kissing cousin to Linux.
Mac's were pretty superior before 1995, now they're not too much so, unless for specific tasks. You'll also face compatibility issues. You'll see that you don't have OS choice - generally, MacOS X is a great OS, and MacOS always was, but if you're very much used to Windows or Linux...

Back in the early 90's, I used to vociferously protest against things like Macs and AOL and even Windows, because they made computers easy to use. My philosophy was: "Computers should NOT be easy to use. They should be cryptic and challenging and at times even downright perverse. This will assure that idiots won't try to use them. If all the idiots out there started using computers, it would be the End of Society As We Know It."
Well, nobody listened to me. Idiots got their Macs, and their Windows, and their AOL. And just look what happened.
Now the damage is done, and my brain has turned to mush, and I've forgotten 90 percent of the Unix wizardry I knew in college. So let them have their macs if they want them, it's too late to go back.
