Let us all keep in mind that Coke and Pepsi both taste different from country to country. Lord knows the Pepsi in Mexico ...... ugh 
It has little to do with the taste though.
Coke has less gas, thus giving it a "heavy" taste.
*Heavy alcohol taste better with a heavy drink.
Light alcohol taste better with a light drink like Pepsi.
* I am not talking about the alcoholic content, I am talking about how thick it is and how dark it is. I've heard bartenders use different definitions for heavy and light liquor, but that is generally what they use out here.
