PerfNES I: Ultima Ratio Regum

Compiled faction list? You can always add to it if you know there's another one I'm missing (I don't know if he did some for the last few Russian and Indian states), I did the quickest possible search, and though there are some people missing. I'm also not breaking it down; you can just control-f your name/name of the nation you're invading and want a fifth column in.

Egypt, Banu Ghaniya, Rome, Zabid, Makuria, Ethiopia, Hejaz, Chobanids.
Longphort League, Sicily, Italy, Provence, Saraqusta, Muwahhiduns, Liyun, Gascony, al-Isbunah.
Mongols, Yaroslavl, the Nondescript Order, Ardabilids.
Tokhta Horde, Hungary, Duke's Lithuania.
Sweden, Poland, Delhi, Volynia.
Pandyas, Haishu, Nanhai, Guangzhou, Yamato, Hubaekje.
England, Bohemia, Denmark, Swabia, Lotharingia, Veliky Novgorod, Frisia.

Also, I was going to send orders, but your PM box is full. Please clear! :)

Who said anything about trying?

(It's not my responsibility to keep track of nations in this. :p)

Cleaned out my PM box. Sorry about that.

Since I'm going to be driving Friday night and busy all day Saturday, I'm moving the deadline to 4 PM Sunday. I hate to do this, but Sunday's the earliest I'll be able to work on the update anyway, and you guys might as well use the time.

Any answer to my pm?

I'm sorry, I must have accidentally deleted it: the most recent PM I have from you is your orders. Could you resend?

Kotte: The former kingdom of Kotte, on the western coast. Was fairly thoroughly suppressed by Jaffna a few decades ago, and has only regained significant prosperity and influence relatively recently. They tend not to like Ruhuna, and are relatively pro-Pandyan, thanks to Pandyan diplomatic efforts.
Royal court: The retainers and bureaucrats of the raja. Fairly reliable supporters of the crown. Strongly Tamil and Hindu. Opposed to any Buddhist influence, and has a growing distaste for the Sinhalese.
Viceroy of Ruhuna: The subking in charge of Ruhuna, in the south. Ruhuna's a traditionally troublesome area, and the Viceroy has a great deal of latitude so long as he keeps it quiet. Likes being left to manage his own affairs, tends to support closer ties with the Pandyans.
Trincomalee: The opinion of the eastern coast, Trincomalee being the most important city of the region. More Tamil than most, and relatively heavily involved in the eastern Indian Ocean trade.
Anuradhapura: Represents the opinion of Anuradhapura and its environs, and particularly the opinion of the influential Buddhist community of the city. They don't like Hindus encroaching on their turf, would like more influence at court, and are opposed to ties with the Pandyans, mostly on account of their pro-Delhi sympathies.

The Army slowly marched south. Although defeated in their goal of conquest, they themselves have defeated the enemy's goals of counter attack the last fall and have fought and won their fair share of victories and defeat. The road is not dusty, for the cold winter's air still hold the mud firm as rank after rank of footmen and columns of boyars, retainers and clumps of tartars rood just off road. At every intersection stood a caller, shouting out the region and the closest towns the road served. "Kievista! Sandura!" shouted one, pointing to a southward path. "Poloslit! Havasgrad!" shouted another on a more northing path. As the line upon line of men continued to the southwest, two collumns of men and horses split off, heading for their own homelands and garrisons.

From Poloslit, a line of Vlach garrisons freed from their duties joined the long line. The swarty men joined the line as it took a break from the march home. Soon, the silence of marching is broken by the sound of stories being swapped, the sound of laughter and jokes. Although many a man was left in Lithuania, many a Pagan also found his or her path to the end cut much shorter than fate had planned. From the armymen came tales of great yet swift seiges and assaults, holding off waves of lithuanians breaking upon the walls like the black sea and the Dneiser, and finally fighting in the chaos of various streets before retreating to the next town. Other spoke of field skirmishes and battles, of Tartar charges and Boyar wedges, of their defeat near the border of Kiev, and the Lithuanian raider's own defeat north of Havasgrad in Poloslit.

However, the talk soon turned to the late Volynian general and the Tartar chief who headed the expedition. Some of them shook their heads, and pointed to earlier campaigns where they proved their worth: In raids in Crimea, on skirmishes near Hungary or even the campaign, years and years ago, to the north to prevent lordless knights from the first part of the Lithuanian civil war from turning Poloslit into a warlord wasteland. The brief break was soon over as the army marched homeward again.

The bright sun beated down on the troops, leaving most of them to sweat prodigiously. Waterboys on swift horses rode up and down the lines from the supply wagons to refill water skins.

Finally: "Tartar Confederacy!" was called. No notable town near the border was known as the forest opened at one edge to a pathless plain reaching for the noon sun. Small patchs placed various tent towns or flocks of horses and sheep. Clouds of dust show previous bands of Tartars, as well as slower ones carrying the loot and their wounded, as well as their recovered dead. The thunder of hooves as the horsemen rode off into the plains. (:))

I decided not to be emo because a couple of people are rude/mean (not Thlayli, he's ok).
The time problem is dealt with by a couple of other NESes I did quit for good and keeping diplo to a minimum and just reading the updates and PMd OOC messages and diplo.
Rejoining if I may as Duke's Lithuania, orders have been sent.

Orders sent. Hopefully no revisions necessary.

54 companies max purchase against 15 companies max purchase... but an inferior position in the field (60 versus 109 (but far more levies (I suppose a massive amount of light cavalry) and a split force but the enemy capital looted and held for the moment). This will be exciting!
Ironically it is because I fielded ten less companies at home (weren't going to join the field army so it doesn't matter so much though) that I have much of this surplus. So the cost of war in one year is disproportionate to the [much higher] number of soldiers you can hire next year. This is a great balancing mechanic, though I can see massive financial reason for doing one's best to get soldiers killed immediately, short of losing one's cadres and provoking a military mutiny or losing the battle/war. :D

OOC: I can't even convince that many people to be levies!?

I guess everyone will be trying to figure how to stop your fifteen-thousand men professional army you are willing to die asap to reduce logistics! Geez that's big.

To Perf, I will resent orders asap, like tonight/tomorrow morning.

I kinda need my PM to be answered soonish Perf if I have to get orders in by tomorrow. Sorry if you couldn't earlier because my PM box was full, but it's been cleared out for a couple days. :)

Perf hasn't answered my questions either. :(

Otherwise I would have finished them and sent them on Wednesday as I planned.

Please answer them ASAP or extend the deadline.
