PH06: One is the Loneliest Number!

again, shall we patch this game? I vote yes (since I originally wanted to wait for the patch before starting this game and it comes out the day AFTER i start them :mad: )
 
well, i'm going to dual-run it for now. Furrie, if you want, the instructions can be found here!

It seems the consensus is on patched here, and that's what i want for SP play, too, but i've heard reports/rumors that the patch is buggy re: Isabella so i want to have the backup JIC.
 
well, i blew it ~ basically, i only have patched warlords b/c something didn't transfer right when i was copying my directory. But, it seems the concensus is patched anyway.
 
Have you considered what effect on research having them in partnerships has?

I'm just talking on the basis of a 5vs1 game on the multiplayer ladder where the 5 players on one team where outteched on the basis they needed FAR more bulbs to tech. As you can see I'm not 100% sure on the details.

I do thing this is a great format, hilarious and the Musa/Alex thing...HAHAHA!

i wouldn't count to much on trades
i usually play in team and versus teams with my brother, and you have different relationship with each civ, and you must please all civ in a team to get good trades :)
 
As posted here, I would prefer to delay patching for a while longer if possible. So I may ask for a skip for this round; if this is likely to be a problem or delay the game unnecessarily I am willing to drop out entirely and let somebody else take my place.

Pholk, KoC is saying that the five were out-teched by the one due to lower beaker requirements for the smaller team. (I think.) That would make this easier, not harder.

Do teamed civs have higher beaker costs? I never knew that. Must test.
 
How much Future Tech costs comparatively in a hotseat Epic game:
Single guy: 19500
Team of 2: 29250
Team of 3: 39000

So the tech scale is 2:3:4 for teams of 1:2:3 respectively.
Since you're playing against teams of 2, the enemy pair will research only 25% faster assuming you have the same tech rate. However, they will also have more production resulting in a bigger army, and more Great People... and they can cover more land.

I'm very sorry, but a hectic week, graphics card issues and preparations for my trip to Edinburgh have left me unable to play:(. Things will be less hectic when I get back, so I will be able to play then.
 
doh, doh, and doh!!

i guess that leaves Scowler up, but my mishap may've forced him out of the game :sad:

so, Furrie, please keep an eye on the thread. If Scowler hasn't responded soon and you're able to play pretty immediately, i would grab it and go. if Scowler comes back and CAN play, then he could just go after you. . . . but i have a sneaking suspicion he likes Robo more ;) :)
