Ok...shortish report. 10 turns played, and I haven't started the war with India yet.
The Good News: I brought Radio in a few turns by dialing science up and culture down. It was 13 turns when I inherited it, but I got it on the last turn of my set.
We've also finished the Ironworks, and started Scotland Yard. We can pump out Tanks in 2-3 turns in one city and 5-8 in two or three others.
The Mediocre News: I did some scouting on the first couple of turns of my set, since we have OB with India. Asoka had a fair number of Tanks and Infantry sitting around, ready to ruin our day if we attack.
Spoilerscouting screenies :
It may not look that bad, but he's got railroads, so it can all hit us within a turn or two of declaration. I figure we've got to have enough Tanks to protect the artillery/infantry for about 3-4 turns as we march to and take Delhi...and I don't think we have enough of 'em yet, so I decided to hold off for a few turns and build up our own military to compensate.
(BTW, it also makes sense to me that we would ABANDON Lahore when we declare, rather than splitting our forces to try to defend it. The town sucks anyway, and I'd rather try to take Delhi and hold it. Thoughts?)
The Bad News: Germany built Apollo in the middle of my set, and had already completed a casing by the end of 10 turns. (Missed the screenshot on the casing, sorry)
Note that Shaka got a GE, too. We REALLY need to get the Elevator to even have a shot at this, so let's beat them to the techs. I don't think we have a prayer of taking either one on militarily.
Our Apollo program is still a few turns out. We can go for Computers or Satellites next, depending on what we think will be most useful (probably Computers). Both techs are required to build the Elevator.

wow, good thing about holding off the attack. Asoka has a TON of units. Perhaps we should abort it?? I don't know.
Bismarck building Apollo is not good news, but, as you say, ours is just a few turns out. It'll all boil down to production and research. Perhaps if we abandon our efforts at a war, and just concentrate on that we will get the edge in the Space Race! We should maybe even convert some of our farms to workshops for extra hammers, and hire some engineers with the farms we leave intact.
Computers will be good to be able to get Labs up soon, so that gets my vote as well.
Hey, Sweet! Coal!! I just noticed on that crop of Germany's Space Program that we popped one @ Princeton! Not bad ~
finally, i'm all for getting the game done as soon as possible so that we can all concentrate on BtS a bit, so i'm flexible on turns played during your set, just don't go crazy.

damn! ya go away for a day or two, and all hell breaks loose!!
Don't Shoot 'till Ya See the Whites of Their Eyes!! (trans: I don't think we should stop until Asoka's done for and eliminated if we can)
Great turns Luke and Pigs!! ~ way to turn the situation around! Perhaps if it is viable, we can make put together a small Greek Expeditionary Force to head in to Germany after India is done for, and we're cleaning up there. Let's hope Shaka really does go after Biz, too, and takes him down a notch, or at least rough him up a bit.

I'd agree with wiping out Asoka - we can use the cities, and we definitely don't want Biz getting the benefit. Other than that, we should try to keep the Shaka-Bismark war going as long (and destructively) as possible.
Played up to 1862. My proper report got wiped by my carelessness. Will probably edit this later to add turn report and pictures.
In summary its us and Shaka vs Bismark and Asoka. Shaka's getting wiped (Biz has MA, gunships, jet fighters). Asoka's getting wiped (we've captured all his mainland cities). Bismark will accept peace for Sorbonne.
Peace proposal:
Sorbonne:
The changing balance of power:
Our Glorious Army:
I switched civics to Vassalage, Theocracy and Slavery; whipped jails and units, we have smaller cities but WW is under control. We've got a GG medic. We discovered computers (already known by Bis and Asoka) then switched off research.
Ok...Codeman appears to be AWOL. Pholk is supposed to be back today (per his earlier post). Pholk, if you can pick up & play, please let us know. Otherwise, I'll take it.
@Pholk - Bummer. Did it actually destroy your disk(s), or just make 'em hard to get out?
Ok...it's been WAAAAY too long without turns here. And, for that matter, a long time since anyone else has checked in. I'd like to take the game to its conclusion (good or bad), because I hate leaving things unfinished, but if the team has lost interest/momentum/etc., please say so.
Unfortunately, I will likely be unable to play & post until Saturday. Therefore, if anyone else can get a set in earlier, please post a 'got it' and run. Otherwise, I'll get one in during the day Saturday.
We're still likely to get beaten by Bismark's tech and production lead. My guess is that we need to put all our tanks in one stack and send them north vs Bismark. If we lose soon then it stops us losing later, if we can weaken him significantly then we might possibly win (though we've still got Hannibal teching away in the background).
Ok. Short report. 9 turns played, 'cuz we have a decision to make.
First, everyone on the planet made nice to Biz-head. Left us vs Asoka and Bismark. Joy.
However, I was presented with an interesting opportunity.
I took it. We're going to need some gunships to have a prayer against Modern Armor. And Bombers wouldn't hurt either.
After a horribly annoying series of losses (three battleships in a row lost to destroyers ), I finally managed to get Cambridge out of starvation by killing off the blockaders.
And I threw everything we had at Bismark. Missed the screenie for the FIRST city that I razed, but I got the second.
I went ahead and played the next turn, to see if Biz managed to wipe us out on the IBT. He didn't, though he did manage to kill off one of our GGs (the uber-combat one, not the Medic III, and we popped another GG back in the homeland). We lost SEVERAL artillery for this last city, but losing a size-17 powerhouse also made Bismark a little more...reasonable...about his demands for peace.
I'm inclined to go ahead and take it. WW is still pretty bad, and our tech rate sucks hard as a result (60% on the culture slider, and way too few specialists). Once we have MA and stealths of our own, we can revisit the question. Also, our entire strike force is wounded, and the next city is going to hurt.
Turns out Asoka is also willing to bury the hatchet. Did I mention that he's freed himself from vassalhood to the Germans?
And no, he's not willing to part with any of those techs as part of the deal.
Oh...and Hannibal has started building casings, too.
