As opposed to those masculine pirates who spent months at sea in close quarters to a bunch of sweaty fellas with bad teeth?

Yes, as opposed to those. Let us not forget the extremely heterosexual nautical terms such as "coxswain" and "first mate".

Such silly exaggeration makes your claim seem childish and silly.

It would only be an exaggeration if I said it was the worst.

EDIT: I'm just going to walk away from this thread and let y'all have your fun. To me, praising piracy is the same as praising pimps. They're both the scum of the Earth and deserve to be used as fertilizer. Pirates are alive and well today around Singapore, Indonesia, and the Phillippines.

You forgot "poop deck" and "seamen".

Pirates of the 1700's would attack merchant vessesl, often killing everyone on board and stealing everything. Today as well they are no more than violent murderous thieves. I admit to being partial to the fictitious romantic view of pirates that is so popular these days, but real pirates were and are scumbags.

Our saucer which art in a colander, draining be Your noodles. Thy noodle come, Thy meatballness be done on earth, as it is meaty in heaven. Give us this day our daily sauce, and forgive us our lack of piracy, as we pirate and smuggle against those who lack piracy with us. And lead us not into vegetarianism, but deliver us from non-red meat sauce. For thine is the colander, the noodle, and the sauce, forever and ever. RAMEN.

I am true pirate as The FSM dictates. Both digital and real. YAARRRR!!!

The ideal of Piracy currently in place in our societies has nothing to do with the stark reality of what these scumbags were.

That said, I do love Pirates!

I'm all about Piracy. Well, dubloon piracy, not software piracy.

Piracy is not good, plus its dangerous too for the lives of the passengers who have their cruise ships pirated by a bunch of pirates. Yes there are modern pirates in the waters today.

I can't believe people are pointing out the incorrectness of supporting piracy...

Both types of piracy are awesome.

Piracy funds terrorism, do not accept it, demand a genuine cassette from your video store.

Sparrow must be the gayest pirate character of all time. Swashbuckler? More like swishbuckler!

Now, now. Just because he has a few effeminate mannerisms and an unusual style of dress doesn't mean he's gay. Didn't he show some interest in the girl? Besides, there seem to have been gay pirates! There's even a book about it: Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition: English Sea Rovers in the Seventeenth-Century Caribbean by Barry R. Burg

piracy as in guys with no legs, eyepatches and parrots boarding pieces of floating wood, or piracy as in copying patented cds and such?

So not like the 'avast' type??? some of it i can stand but if you start speaking to me in 1337 ill slap you back to remedial english lessons.

I could live without scurvy, homosexuality and earrings personally but hey, to each their own.

Just don't try to loot my ship. :ar15:
