Well, Brno is not exactly a popular tourist site and it will never be. I had some smaller towns in mind, that are quite nice, but thanks to our pragocentrist government, not advertised. This country has much more to offer than just one city.

Only 2000? ;)

To clear it, Brno is second largest city. Rivarly is great. So please dont trust him all. But fact is that capitalism works in tourism much, but its in all tourist cities.

If you want visit Czech Republic, maybe this text from one German Japanese guy will help...there are places of interests, include Brno...

Yes, but no soccer WM.
And concerning beer I agree, Czek are as well as Germans (No way better). But if you can get both? 2006 is our year, sorry mate :p

Our B Husittes are already prepared to challenge your A Teutonics again. But keep topic, dont continue, because I am rude football fan, so keep or rename topic:satan:

What is thisd about. I just mentioned two good reasons to visit GErmany 2006. (this year) I was even fair enough to mention that under normal conditions equal beer could also be found in your country. And now you dare to consider to compete with our national team?

Simply do as usual and surrender 2nd round :p

Cant wait for the World Cup....it's a good excuse to cut class and drink beer!

It's Mozart's birthday, of course you should go to Salzberg!

It's good advice to deny being American ATM. Bush isn't making you guys very popular.

Salzb_u_rg you ignorant! And he did not play soccer so anyway GERMANY!
And besides he's dead and gone for ages. So whom to meet there in fact?
But the event of the next 4 years (if you do not count EM of corse) is- you know where?

He is making them _very_ popular in fact. Why don't you stick to the facts, hm? ;)

yeah, salzburg is a nice town. i visited it once and theres this little tunnel separating a modern architecture city while on the other side its a completely different world, a city-centre/altstadt in medieval/barock style.

As a Canadian, I resent Americans posing as Canadians. They're defaming my country!

I'd like to visit the Netherlands and Scandinavia someday. Meet all my rellys.

by the way, speaking about tourists trap, well, Italy is a huge trap. From Taxis to restaurants, you must always keep your eyes wide open.

In the end, my final advice for you is visiting Germany if you plan to travel in June or July. I wouldn't miss the world cup.

A week isn't much time, so you could zone on anything; I'd do Ireland. What you really need to do is find 2-3 months.

1) Rent a train pass
2) Take a backpack with all you need in it; easy to find places to wash clothes
3) Sleep on trains or hostels; you can shower in major train stations
4) In cities rent day passes for public transportation, which will get you around in most of them
5) In Ireland, rent a car (ensure you go with a buddy; lots of groups of 2 girls hitch hiking can make for fun encounters)
6) You can easily eat on the cheap (bread, cheese, lunchmeats)
This is a way to spend lots of time in fun places.

Hey, it's not just about Prague. Krumlov is terribly commercialized as well. But from some reason, Japanese still like it ;)
