Playable Byzantines in RFC 600AD

Onedreamer, can you write the conditions for Byzantium to spawn in Python? Can someone else help us make them into a real and playable civ? We will most likely have to mod XML and python files. We also need people who can translate text into German, French, Spanish, and Italian. We can do it without the translations, it would just be hard for someone who does not know English to read anything involving the Byzantines.

^Pure BS. I did it easy. Just changed a singe character.

@captain beaver: If unlocked Byzantines is all we want, the following should be sufficient. A few errors, but after you click OK OK OK Byzantines are playable. No interior advisor, no stability (I think).

But hey, some people don't like stability either.

EDIT: Of course, if you want them to be a civ that's like all the others, well, you will need Rhye's help. :p

The game crashed after few turns (I think it´s because of great people...)

Doesn't anyone want to help? I thought that you wanted they Byzantines to be in the Game. Rhye will probably not help since he has been asked several times before and he said no. We will have to do it ourselves.

That would be weird; the AI Byzantines spawn great people like mad. (I see their Great Merchants wandering around Europe all the time.)

I am serious about this. Can you code python? Is there anyone except me that wants to do this and can code?

All I can write are posts on this forum :D

This project has been suspended until more people are found to help, but will continue.:D

i cant do python, i never messed around with it, but i can do a small bit of XML if u need it (WARNING: not much)

Great, welcome abroad. I think that we still need one more person who can mod python well. We can start on some things right now. Any more volunteers?

Lets stat with the XML folder. I think that we will have to modify: Civilizations.xml and some of the Text.xml. Do we have to modify anything else in the xml folder?

I think you also have to modify leaderheadsinfo. I am not sure. And modify the WBS so that they are playable.

With Civilization.Xml, I meant both of the files in the folder.
The WBS change is 1 second, so I'm not even talking about that.
Can you help out a little?

I'm going to do the Byzantine settler map, do you think that I could just copy the Roman one?

I looked at the civilization files more closely. For leaderheadinfos.xml we will need to add a new leader since Julius Caesar changes to Justinian, who will be one of our leader heads.

For Civilizationinfos.xml, everything looks fine except the city list. I don't think that the Byzantines were supposed to build cities because the city list has important city names that should be on their settler map. Suspicion confirmed, they have no settler map.

For the civilization files, it's not going to be too hard, all we have to do is download another leader head and add it. For Civilizationinfos.xml just make a city list.

Did I miss anything?

Progress on the Byzantines:
Changed it so the Roman Julius Caesar does not become Justinian after 600 AD. Now Justinian can be the Byzantine leader head.

Copied Roman settler map and city name changes and gave them to Byzantium.

Changed WBS so that the Byzantines are playable in the 3000 BC start.

Copied the Roman settler list for Civilizationinfos.xml. I don't understand everything else in that file.

Does anyone think that adding new independent city in the Balkans that flips to Byzantium is a good idea? Dyrrachium?
Are there enough Barbs in the Balkans?
Is Byzantium a middle eastern nation, or European?

They are... Mediterranean.
Now I need 3 UHV, or at least the dates that they should be completed by.
Also, should there be more barbarians in the Balkans and an independent city spawns there to flip to Byzantium. Dyrrachium?

I would give them 3 settlers, plus Athens which will flip, that's good enough. Hagia Sofia will be buildable then ?
