Why does it get so much attention? Why are comparable countries so rarely mentioned here and on other forums? Why do Poland's grievences recieve almost constant airing? Why don't we discuss Brazil, Ukraine, Japan, South Africa, Vietnam, Spain, India or Mexico anywhere near as much as we do Poland? How come you hear every week here how Poland resents Russia, and almost never how Armenia resents Turkey, Ireland resents UK, or Korea resents Japan?

Is it just me or is Poland the squeakiest wheel of all time?

Maybe because it's seen as part of the 'west'.
Here(China), the two Koreas get the most attention (if you don't count the superpowers).

Really? You think you even hear a tenth as much about Ireland here as you do Poland? When was the last time you saw a thread which consisted of an exhaustive account of every single little grievance Ireland has against a foreign country? Or Hungary? Or Laos? Or Nigeria? Or France? Or India? Or etbleedingcetera...

There are more important situations to be solved rather than Poland's empty claims about WW2..
I'm from Turkey and world's heart is beating from Middle East..Problems,Chaos everthing spreads from Middle East..And we suffer from it with all our body and soul..(I'm sorry if i have any grammatical mistakes)

If there was any similar threads about Ireland, it'd probably be about how the British are bad and are scum, but Carefully ignoring what the IRA did.

And vice versa, Mountbatten. But this is a serious thread. It gets way too much attention. the only countries that get mroe here are the US and Russia, and they are both major world players. We hear more about Poland than we do about Germany, China, Brazil, Japan, UK, Iran etc...

1) There are many polish posters here.
Poland isn't that much in the news

but in CFC forum it is present.
2) Poland is near Europe, is part of the West. It is relatively large and important country compared to other post-communist ones.
3) There was no discussion about Katyn, about Ribbentrop-Molotov etc for 50 years after the war: it was prohibited in USSR, Soviet-dominated Poland, and it was supressed in the capitalist Europe and USA for political reasons as well. That's why when there's finally freedom to talk
4) Major historical events took place in Poland. We wouldn't talk that
5) Because many CFC posters like to troll Poles, which leads to heated discussions.

You need to know some forum history, which I don't have the full details, but I remember it vaguely. But it's due to the petitions by Polish people to put Poland in civ in the various civs. I believe one of the incidents is when polish people jacked up an offical site mod (I *think* it might have been Apolyton but it leaked here; I specifically remember polish people jacking up the votes; might have been a cooperative mod, some petition to Firaxis, something like that) followed by general complaints by polish people that Poland should be in civ, and the continuous outrage after the HRE was added in Civ4:BTS instead of other nations, like Poland.

The Polish obsession on CFCOT is primarily an outgrowth and reaction to these on-topic debates. Needless to say, due to the large numbers of annoying polish people on the forums through these various incidents, including what we know here as the Eastern Europe controversy, the antagonistic reactions toward Poland are understandable.

Well because of its labor, Europe treats Poland like we treat Mexico. (except without the drug and trade relations). The country is also on tumultuous ground right now by trying to appear to side with both the United States and the EU. For the moment it seems to be able to test a lot of hopes from different countries for that reason. EU-nationalism, anti-EU-nationalism, American Foreign Policy, Russia Relations, and the rest. Makes for good media - people will read.

There are also lots of still mildly nationalist Polish peoples aboard that likely post on this board.

He's talking about the forums, not the news. It's most certainly talked more about here on CFCOT than Mexico, Brazil, or Japan.
