Polish Civ

Now that I've thought about it I think I might keep the Dutch if they have a good UU and a good leaderhead and if so then I'll mod the Mayans to the Poles. El Sol is still a really cool guy who can't understand simple explanations.

Here's what my Poland would be and what I would like to see in CIV4:

Ind@Agr
Winged Hussar (replaces Knight) 4-3-4 maybe with a ZOC or something
Capital: Warsaw
Leader: King Casmir
Second City: Krakow
Other Cities: Danzig, Lodz, Poznan, Vilnius, Tilsit, and any other major city from Poland or Lithuania.

Still sorry if I offended any of the Dutch but the Poles should be offended that they're not in. Long Live Polska!

Moderator Action: Packer-Backer, be glad I don't give you a 3-day ban for the garbage you posted here this morning!

As it is, Packer-Backer and El Sop are warned for their language. PB is on the verge of a ban.

Thread reopened.

Please read the forum rules: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=422889

I apologize to anybody who read my response to El Sop :( . But I DO NOT apologize to El Sop himself. Semper Fi, moderator!

I have room in my heart for all civs, (except the aborigines and polynesians), but come on Packer Backer, in the Colonial Era, Holland was a commercial, and naval juggernaut with far more political and cultural influence than Poland ever had.

Please tell me you know what Semper Fi means. Because translted from Latin Semper Fi means: Always Faithful. So what you just said was Always Faithful, Moderator. Also Semper Fi is a motto that I value very much because of the fact that Semper Fi is the Marine Corps motto. Also the ah do not aplogize line isn't going to win any points with the mod, more likely it will push you closer to being banned.

hey holland and poland had their moments in history and then faded away, so both are worthy and unworthy so its a matter of personal chose. take the one you like and run with it, no need to get personal or hatefull--it IS a game after all:)

I'm just joking around and I do know what Semper Fidelis means. I will never wright a negative post again and neither should any other member. Just suggest mods and expansions packs instead of complaining if the Cataphract isn't the Byzantine UU and if the Poles aren't in (I will stop complaining now)

48 days 'til C3C.

I'll apologize for the use of the s*** word, it was not meant to offend anyone or anything or hurt anybodies feelings, although it apparently did. Why, I'll probably never know, since that was not explained. But let's forget about it.

@Packer-Backer: I do not even need your apologies, since I don't feel personally offended. You don't even know me.

@Padma: I like your editing of the above posts, it all sounds so perfectly peacefull ;)

That "S-word" is borderline offensive, and I edited it because I felt it contributed to the problem.

As for the overall editing - that's the idea. ;) Nice cool blue letters, peaceful language, hoping to calm everyone down ....

@Packer-Backer: Please read your Private Messages.

Probably so. I guess PB thought the S-word referred to the Poles instead of a world map with Amsterdam being German (which well .... ahh, as I said, let's forget about it ;) ), that's the only reasonable explanation I can give.

I like Holland, even though its more PC to call it the Netherlands. Tulips, great cheese (the kind you eat, not the name for suspect moves (that was a cheesey strategy), Windmills, hans brinker and the silver skates, wooden shoes (although they are uncomfortable to wear, the idea is kind of cool, wear a tree, not a dead horse skin)

Now Poland, well, I am sure there are pretty girls there and lots of fine things, but no images spring to mind when I think Poland. There is a kind of bottled water, and a variety of Hog, and (sorry, polish jokes) and the polka and acordian music. Was Laurence Welk polish? I ask again, did they invent Vodka?

By and large the Dutch have a very positive image. Even the liberals like their drug laws. Did I mention some of their fine artists? Poland comes out lower on my personal popularity index. Didn't they lose a lot of wars? Do I need another, psychological historical handicap whan I select a power to play?

Would you rather be a sturdy Dutch boy with his finger in the dike, or a polish ham? Its an image issue, and the Dutch are holding almost all the cards.

If I didnt complain about the cataphract not being the Byzantine UU I wouldnt be me ;), besides, Jeff_Atari seems to take it in good humour, and in the end, its he that counts :), so as long as I dont get a word from him to stop, I think that a little poke at the issue wont hurt :D, besides, I've been good latelly, ony entering debate about the cataphract once other have brought it up, like now :D, not to mention, I'm sure my complaining has already made s differnce for civ4 :goodjob:

besides that, at one time the Byzantines were, more or less the martyr civ for the civs who deserved to be, in the days we didnt know it was in, now it is the martyr for all the civs whom are not accurate, and accuracy is somthing I, and many others would like to see improved- a more accurate game means a more compelling, and realistic game, and that will translate into fun, likability, and PROFIT (and a big jucy bonus for the guy who suggests to the Atari bosses I'm sure :goodjob: )

that has become the issue of choice for my cataphract arguments, aside from getting a nice little gathering of suggestions for c3c mods, which everyone will enjoy :D, I feel my posts still bare pirpose, and meaning, and add onto the conversations they are in.

so, in short, no, Byzantium will riegn as EMPEROR (HA! take that Theodora!) of the c3c civs as long as I'm here :D

<sigh>
You had to get him started didn't you? Now for the next 48 days all we'll be hearing about is Xen's horsey.;)

Just think of the glue factories every time he posts about his horsies! :D

you would have heard about them anyway :p

From now on I'll try to write in blue, it is soothing and peaceful.

I'm just curious, El Sop, do all of the foreigners on this site have to speak English or is it translated somehow? Because maybe some curse words wouldn't get through.

It's time for positivity! Poland, Holland, Assyria, Pacific NW Indians, Polynesians, they're all nice! Maybe it's the tranquilizers, or maybe...I lost my train of thought.

Hey, barron of ideas, I read yours after I just posted so I'll keep yaking! Poland may have lost a couple wars but so did Netherlands! Poland may have been conquered by the Nazis but so did Netherlands! Poland had a large empire and that is enough to make into the game because Babylon and ancient Rome are long gone by now, but so did Netherlands! The last sentence was meant to be positive because I like how the Dutch had a couple colonies in the Americas, the Near East, and Africa.

From now on when if I use the initials lol I don't mean laughing out loud, now I mean lots of love!
