I'm currently playing a game as the Qing, and all Ms. Christie has to say is a simple "The Eight Banners rise to make way for the Qing."

While I really enjoy her deliberate, precise narration, I would really like to hear more from her! For the tech tree, I think that the amount of speech she is performing already is quite perfect, but there are many opportunities for her to add more narration to the game. The civilization introductions are but one example.

Can we have an actual poll for this or would you also only have people post if they agree with you?

I vote No. I loved Bean's narration at first, but sometimes I just want to read in silence.

So far, I like the narration but I'm not smitten by it as some people here are. Sometimes she sounds like she has a cold, and at other times I felt her reading was a bit too sombre and soft, as if quotes are emotional instead of thoughtful.

I like it the way it is, and most likely will soon replace quotes by the et cetera mod anyway :)

What do you mean? This is an actual poll.

I don't mind the intro speeches being shorter - makes it easier to focus on reading the text. But man like eight words is a little too short.

The big woman is in civ? FYI, other languages have other voice actors. If you make a poll it would be nice to include them as well. They all did a great job.

FWIW, she narrates something unique for each civ between each age for each primary victory path, as well. So the # of words narrated might be the same as Sean B. in Civ6.
Each civ between each age is just 31 seperate lines, but idk what you mean wrt each primary victory path?
Edit: Nvm I get what you mean! Thought you meant on the civ loading screens, forgot about the victory videos :P

I think it’s the most recently completed legacy path? What do you mean primary?

Tbf, this forum uses English as it's language, it's not that weird to assume that people here play the game in English. Just so long as you (unpersonal) don't consider it wrong when people don't, or anything like that.

My only complaint is that the mastery tech/policy has the same quote as the normal one. I which all mastery
had Unique quotes.

This.

Civ VI had two quotes for every tech, and that would work very well here. I don't care which one would go first, but hearing the same quote twice in a dozen turns is weird every time again.

For some intros, the brevity works and gives off a sense of imaginative grandeur.

For others, I find myself asking, "That's it? What does that even mean?"

The point about the age transitions and victories being narrated is well taken.

I will point out, there are minimums in normal voice-over contracts. You don't bring someone in for just 1 or 2 lines or 1 hour unless you absolutely have to. I would not be surprised if audio for future civs and wonders was recorded already. And I don't mean the March or September DLC, but civs that they know they will release in the expansion, or in 2026 DLC. Say, Joseon for example, or Morocco, or whatever civ you assume is a given.

I would imagine that was the case with Sean Bean too.

That said, I'd still love to see more quotes for masteries too, and I would prefer some of the super-short intros to be at least a sentence longer.

Someone could probably mod an AI clone of her voice reading the rest of the text. As unethical as that may be...

I don't mind not listening to the era text every single time you load the game like in 6. Hearing the same text every industrial age game load, etc... gets pretty repetitive. But I wouldn't mind at least one more line of text for each civ intro.
