Rhye says that if the majority wants this, it will become default. So, let's see what people think. :)

No- they get too big and it would be confusing if they changed from turn to turn, as well as unsightly.

Oh, no, by default, no - it's still a little bit too cluttered. Althrough I'd like to receive the *.py files with them on scoreboard as an option.

So, by default - no, as an option - yes.

Dynamic names are cool, but I wouldn't want them as default. A tick box in the "Custom Scenario" menu would be a better option, easy to enable without modding and easy to disable by just not pressing it.

I vote no; it'd take up too much screen real estate and in some cases could be confusing, especially to new players.

No, for reasons stated above. I'd like it as an option though.

The result's pretty even now, 7/7.

abolutely not.

bah, the only votes that should count on an open forum are commented votes. 100% of comments are for "nay".

Can't say any of the (precious few) reasons that the prior commentors have posted have made all that much sense to me; but onedreamer's is much less sensible than the others, so I can't let it pass. Loud=right is not a valid equation. Hence this post.

More screen space? A microscopically incremental amount to my eyes.
More confusing? Personally I find the current situation where the scoreboard names are different from the name used elsewhere in the game, such as in turn events, etc., to be confusing so I think it would be *less* confusing. If you are worried about "changes", why not have an event log saying such a such a nation has changed its changed its name from X to Y. A simple

The government of the (e.g) Kingdom of Portugal has been overthrown, and a new (e.g) Continuing Portuguese Revolutionary Process has been proclaimed!"

should suffice.

Cheers, Luke

I voted Yes because I like to see the dynamic names whenever. I have to go to F4 to see their real name right now. But...I guess if it were possible, I would be fine with a check box on the RFC game setup screen.

(did I mention dynamic names are cool?)

Space is not an issue, if you don't want to look at the scores in the lower right of the screen they can be minimized.

But I voted no because I want the names in the scoreboard to be quick to decipher. It takes my brain some effort to correlate that the United Mexican States is actually the Aztecs for instance. I absolutely don't need this sort of extra difficulty in-game when I just want to know the relative score position of each nation.

The colors man, the colors! :crazyeye:

In fact, the only vote that should count is Onedreamer's. Those who are opposed to the change are indeed more vocal, but so far the silent majority seems to go the other way.
Nice commented vote. :)

You know what, whatever smiley you add won't make you appear smarter than you are. I obviously meant that registering just to cast a vote is too easy and that votes should be posted with a comment, whatever it is, even a "no comment" is a comment. I don't know what kind of comment one can pull out on such a proposal, everyone already said that names would be too long for that list, I didn't think it was necessary that I'd waste more bytes to reiterate it, but it appears I have to, in the end.

Well, the smiley faces are meant to say 'hey, don't take me too seriously', but they don't seem to be working in your case. :D

How's that supposed to be 'obvious'? In fact, it doesn't make any sense to me. Besides, what makes you think that anybody who hasn't posted a comment did register with the sole purpose of voting on this poll?

Correction: not 'everyone'. Only some of the minority who voted 'no'. :)

dynamic gameplay is the part of RFC that makes the mod great. The more visual the dynamic systems are, the better, so... yes on the dynamic names.

Wrong again, I'm afraid. I voted yes even though I think some of the names are too long and sometimes just foolish. "The Islamic Democracy of German West Africa"? Give me a break.
