I bet the thousands of people he electrocuted would dispute that. You know, 96% of the people voted for Saddam Hussein too. Does that make him not a dictator but a democratically elected individual? You know that Castro holds elections and so did the Soviet Union. Just the fact that one holds election does not make one a democratic leader. And also he took over with the military in a bloody coup in 1974. Pinochet was a dictator, and particularly bloody and terrible one.

2 things:
1) why isn't this stickied? It would make a good sticky.

2) the Ashanti. After going through 10 pages of the New Civilizations and 13 of the Database, i found not a single Ashanti Civ.

UU- Twafo- the advance guard of the Ashanti military system from 1800- 1900, which used bows, which were gradually replaced by muskets.

Hey, I just realized, along with Osei Tutu, you might use Kofi Annan as a second, moder leader of the Ashanti. Think about it. He does look like he could be based on Gandhi (shrunken-head Gandhi, of course).

There are a few Ireland mods. There is one in CIV Gold with Michael Collins and Niall of the Nine Hostages as leaders, Fianna as the UU and Publishing House as the UB.

I made an Irish civ with a fully-flavored unit set. The leaders are Brian Boruma and Michael Collins. You can click on Europe I in my sig to get it (along with six other European countries), that is if the link still works. RIP FileFront...
