Hi, I have a problem now with connecting to multiplayer games after I downloaded the latest patch.

So, if you could please help in the following:
1. How do I stop Civ4 from conflicting with my anti-virus program without having to shut the latter down (Norton)
2. Even when I disabled Norton, I still could not host a game or connect to any games (N.B. I had no problems before installing the new patch in doing either)

Thank you.

Hi fahmy that would depend on how your internet connection is set up.

MS Win xp sp2 has a firewall that is stand alone and can usally be accessed by riight clicking on the lil internet conection icon. You can configure that to accept whatever you want it to accept.

Norton is a pain in the arse. I do not use it when running games I just stick with the firewall provided by MS.

Norton does not shut down when you turn off stratup or disable.

You need to go into MS config and disable the norton services from there.

Hide the MS services first using the check box at bottom of services first.

Anyways I dont know how to get Norton to work with this game.

When Norton is left on for me it usually crashes my 3d games.

If you dont turn norton off right when you turn it back on it will flip out.

Thanks a lot! I removed the Norton like you said and it worked just fine.

I have a problem connecting to multiplayer games after installing 1.52 and it has nothing to do with Norton (Don't have it). Also, I disabled the firewall and the lobby still didn't see games I started on a computer in the same room.
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, did you install Xfire or not?

The game resets a lot of stuff. Did you reset them back?
