Pre-ChaNES: Into the Void

I'd rather let this hang than post an update I'm unsatisfied with, and I don't want to call it a hiatus when this is still the only NES I'm working on. I also have no intent of killing this Pre-NES and scrapping what we've made so far.

The situation in the coming update is extremely complex. This is what makes it difficult to chip away at it with a spare hour every once in awhile. Every major event that happens on one front impacts the political situation elsewhere in colonized space. The only times when I can make good progress are when I have a free day to sit down, review all the players' orders, and take the time to think about what would realistically happen. I'm not a very fast mod in the first place, so that's a major factor in why this is taking so long. It's unreasonable to expect players to put up with this sort of thing regularly, I know, but this is just how it's turning out. I hope that the result will be interesting enough to keep most of you onboard.

Yea, your just going to resign even though you control more than 50% of the game action?

It's not like his blood sweat and tears is being sacrificed at the moment. The updates have never been speedy, he should consider these things before he forms the freaking SOLAR FEDERATION

Well, threatening resignation is within your rights as a player. I'm tempted to give a response along the lines of "We do not negotiate with terrorists," but as it happens, your most recent urgings have gotten me over the biggest obstacle in the update, and most of what's left is just detailing the progress of everyone's pet projects. It may be done by February 16th anyway.

Symphony, other people have put significant efforts into this NES as well, even if it is not immediately obvious to you. I very much enjoy ChaNES, and am willing to allow Chandrasekhar all the time he requires to update- it's not like this is the only NES in the world.

OOC: Your pattern recognition skills really need some work.
I would call it optimism, and practicality- I don't need to quit a NES, even if it is fading out. There is no functional difference between quitting a NES and being in the same NES and having it end, and very little effort needs to be used to keep interest even during a lull.

You could just set your subscription to email and never come back unless it does.
