Pre-CNES: Flowers on the Working Title

@CD: Code is not ready for public consumption just yet. Sorry. :(

@Luckymoose: How's this background?

The Revolutionary Collectives of Ta'a'ma
For hundreds of years, the Na'a'tu had lived in peace and harmony, in small kingdoms, trading exotic 'herbs' amongst themselves and sailing the peaceful Kahuni Sea. But everything changed when the EMPIRE attacked. Tain colonists from Tython and New Daeacht subjugated the Na'a'tu, setting up their Empire of Tu Gaol to extract rubber and petroleum from the jungle depths. The Na'a'tu were reduced to a state of slavery.
Finally, the revolutionary teachings of the great shaman Bu'u'ga' caused an uprising, which brought thousands of Na'a'tu to storm the gates of the colonial oppressors and slaughter them all. In charge of the former colonial infrastructure, Ta'a'ma is in a position to achieve greater glory with their new ideals of redistributive equality...but will they succeed or fail on the world stage?

At request, moving my initial claims around.

Nation Name: Chaoyang Intendancy
Flag: GXI_monarchy.tga
Color: Gray
Unit Type: KMT
Provinces:

Units: 3 Infantry (free), 10 Militia (free), 1 Artillery (3 NBP)
Improvements: 1 province (5 NBP); desert province (capital) urbanized (5 NBP), port in desert province (capital) (2 NBP)
Extras: Mandatory Service (5 NBP)
History: The easternmost Lijiani colonies were the furthest from central authority, and thus, the first to break away once turmoil engulfed the metropole. Under the rule of a strong Intendant and powerful central government, ethnic Lijian have poured north with the completion of the Two Seas Railway. The government has followed, sending prefects and magistrates to organize the settlers and integrate them into the central state.

Internally, the ruling Chaoyang People's Party (朝陽親民黨) presents a unified face to the world (the Ma jihui/馬集會), the country's legislature, remains seriously gerrymandered). The party itself, however, remains divided between the isolationist Serenity Faction and the expansionist Desert Hills Faction. While no single faction has achieved dominance, a battle for public opinion is currently in progress; the winner is likely to name the next Intendant, and set the course of Chaoyang policy for the next decade.

Updated Sprites (warning, it's quite a bit big):

Now that these are done (for the most part; if you have any requests or complaints, don't hesitate to issue them forth), all I need to do is finish up the map and we can get this show on the road. Look for CNES launch tonight.

Updated my submission, though I just noticed that I had my port in a non-urbanized/industrialized province. If this is a problem just put it in my capital.

Nation Name: Susumu
Flag: Kor_Monarchy.tga
Color: Brown
Unit Type: Sushi
Provinces: The top three provinces of Arabic-Japanese island, Capital the most Northern one
Units: 4 infantry (3 free), 1 Destroyer
Improvements: Capital Urbanized, Middle Province with Port
Extras:
History: With the fall of the Grand Republic the colonial government on Ejin found themselves in charge of a new nation that was already on the verge of collapse. Without the Grand Republic’s might backing the government in Susumu numerous factions, ranging from natives to warlords and even pretender governments, began to rise up and try to claim their chunk of this former colony. The new Republic of Susumu could not cope with all these threats so in order to preserve the new country sweeping emergency powers were given to the military allowing them to do what was needed to defeat any threats to the Republic and her people. With these new powers the military was able to quell most of the threats but when the parliament, feeling that the Republic was secure, asked for the military to hand over the emergency powers they refuse stating that any weakness in the military would allow for new threats to appear. In order for the Republic to remain secure the military must remain in charge. Many politicians object to this but one by one all dissenters either lost elections, were arrested, or were the victims of some scandal. The parliament still remains “in charge” of most of the day to day actions of the country but the military is capable vetoing any action that they feel would “compromise the security of the Republic”. Recently there has been a divide in the military between the army who feels that once the home island is secure they should adopt a more defensive footing and the navy who has advocated for expansion beyond the home island to establish bases to secure resources and extra protection for the home island.

@merciary: No problem!

@Thlayli: I'll get right on it.

Here's the last minimap I'm posting before I launch the NES. Any last-minute submissions better kick it into overdrive.

I changed Ankossa to its D'Ancau name (yes, Ancau is an Occitan bastardization of Ankos, how clever you are to notice that) to give Nuke more of a cultural heartland, changed all of the Urethaku provinces to fit Iggy's desires, and tweaked/added one or two more province names.
