NESdim - MEIOU

It's 1390 and empires are expanding, will you lead your people to a glorious victory or a shameful defeat? Lead your nobles as their King and acquire land and serfs! But remember it is easy to be brave behind a castle wall.

Players - Anyone can play, but reservations exist. If someone with reservation rights to a country does not appear within the first turn, a new player can request that nation.

Stories - Are encouraged! Write as many as you please. If they're good, they'll get you a bonus.

Updates - Will arrive when they arrive. In other words, expect them sometime at least twenty-four hours after the deadline. But since I have nothing else to do, I'll be swift.

States- In the stats-list you will find the nations available for play. Nations that are reserved will already have a name next to them in the stats. See "Players" as to what horrible, unspeakable things happen when a player who reserved a country doesn't appear within time.

State Template:
Kingdom of Bosnia
Feudal Monarchy: King Tvrtko I
Economic Power: 2/0
Noble and Church Approval: 80%
Army: 5 Infantry, 2 Calvary, 1 artillery
Navy: 2 Ships
Religion: Crkva Bosanska (Heretical Bosnian Church)
Royal family: Kotromanić

Every nation has a name of some form or another, and indeed, every faction has a name, of some form or another. Oftentimes the "feel" and "flavor" of a nation is encompassed within that name. However, proceed to the next line and you'll see the government type or class of a nation.Following your government type, and its head or heads as the case may be, is Economic Power. Economic Power is the total sum of the forces of your nation's economy that are available in one form or another for the use of you, the player. You can spend all your available Economic Power (or EP) in a turn, and unless you lose from your surplus (something happens to do relatively permanent damage to your economy) you'll get the same number back you had last turn. You can also bank EP you don't need, and draw it out when you want. Your Economic Power surplus can be improved by conquering foreign lands. The more serfs and land the more money. It will depend on what land it is. Important cities or provinces, trade routes... will give you more Economic power, also conquering regions with large populations may also give you a boost in the economy, because you have more people to tax.

Economic Power (1st number = existing surplus, received each turn. 2nd number = banked surplus)

After Economic Power is noble and church approval. Your noble & church approval is a summary in percentage form of the general opinion of the nobles and church, or the members of your faction, of the current powerhouse. Relatively high numbers such as 60-80% represent general contentedness with the existing order of things, and little to no chance of armed revolt whatsoever. Excessively high numbers, such as 90 to 99% indicate that the nobles either genuinely love and exhort your regime (not as often as you might hope) or more likely, that the nobles are too afraid to show any real discontent. In general lower numbers (50% and below) represent a real willingness to speak out against the current kings rule, and higher incidence of actual discontent or distrust towards the government. Around these numbers is where you should start worrying about major armed revolts, or even civil war. Finally we come to military stats, which show the size of the various branches of your military in simple terms.

Unit Prices/Military Matters
Every number in front of they unit type, represents the number of thousands in the army. With the expenditure of 1EP you get 1000 men of infantry type (1 unit), they are the standard unit and they are mediocre against anything. 2EP will get you 1000 men of cavalry type (1 unit), they are good in pitch battles against infantry and raiding through plain countries but in sieges and mountainous terrain, they lack. Finally the artillery, never use them alone, they are weak but combined with both infantry and cavalry and in sieges they are strong.

Technology and Other Cool Things
There is no tech tree. If you have an idea for a technological breakthrough that you think is feasible, PM me and I'll tell you how much it will cost.

Unification:
Some smaller nations may create larger empires, unite the same peoples, the nations that can do that are:
England or Scotland uniting Great Britain
Holland, Gelre or Utrecht uniting The Netherlands
Any German state uniting Germany
Denmark, Norway or Sweden uniting Scandinavia
Athens, Morea and the other small Greek nation uniting Greece
Any Ex-Yugoslav nation uniting Yugoslavia (kinda funny)
Castille or Aragon uniting Spain
Russian states uniting Russia
Italian states uniting Italy
When unifications happen, you will be rewarded by EPs, military and so forth, it will extremly benefit you, oh and for comedic reasons any nation in the borders of the old Roman Empire uniting into the Roman Empire by controlling 75% of the Roman Empire at its fullest. :D

You can post, I'll post the rest of the stats later, its late now, didn't relize that there are so much factions, England and Hungary are reserved, you can probably recognize most of the nations on the map so you can reserve.

me=castille

I'd like the Golden Horde or Crimean faction, please.

Sweden, France or Aragon.

England checking in. ;)

Recommendation please! I want something relatively close to a center of conflict and can tip the balance.

Republic of Firenze please. Seems a lot of stats are missing though?

Timurids, Muscovy or Lithuania?

Republic of Firenze please. Seems a lot of stats are missing though?

Yes, I'm currently writing them, it takes a lot of time, but you probably know each nation and its strength (at least the majors, which you are probably going to pick).

Well i'm picking the coolest name in Italy.. I hope you decide in this time it is at least equal power to any other Italien provinces ;)

I must admit, I don't like your unification rules at all. Unification in a nationalistic sense (which seems to be what your rules are aimed at) is not really a relevant issue at this time, especially with things like Yugoslavia, which is an artificial union that didn't even exist as an idea before the second half of the 1800s at the earliest. Without nationalism, a good deal of these quasi-states could have ended up part of some other empire just as easy as they ended up part of the countries you are associating them with based on their modern day political geography.

I feel like putting in goals for nations to unify is going to encourage them to act out of character for the era, by putting a player's focus on unifying large swathes of Europe with vague cultural connections rather than aiming for more realistic goals like monopolizing regional trade or fighting religiously motivated wars.
