The US

The EU has had a long and violent history. The only reason they are nice now is becaue they aren't in charge

This only proves you know very little about the EU. WW2 ended the traditional European militarism. If there's someone who really hates power politics, it's Europeans.

EU is now very skilled in diplomacy and eradicating war through economic and political integration. If I had to choose one nation (ok, not a nation, but a political entity) to rule be a hegemon, I'd definitely choose the EU.

Of course it is, in the EU's case.

Europe is a sort of anti-thesis of the US, when it comes to foreign policy.
- Americans prefer unilateral or bilateral approach, Europeans prefer multilateralism.
- Americans are stuck with nationalism, Europeans are moving towards internationalism or transnationalism.
- Americans believe the main foreign policy tool is their military, Europeans prefer to use soft power (influence, persuasion).
- Americans believe in the unique position of their country, Europeans support regional integration in other parts of the world.
- Americans talk about human rights, Europeans actively promote them.

Yes, the EU is not perfect and sometimes, it is indeed naive, but I strongly believe that the "European way" is better and more useful for the globalized world than the "American way".

No, it's a song from "Cabaret" musical. I saw this play few years ago, and this song was terrific (in Brno, the song was in Deutsch, not English or Czech) - I can still feel the effect it had on the audience, everybody was simply stunned, especially when the Swastika flags appeared at the end.

I have given this a lot of thought and decided that Iceland should be the world overlords. Really, who hates Iceland? Nobody. They have beautiful land, women, and a centuries of democratic tradition to throw out the window to become our overlords.
