oaky, glad to see so many people filling up!

okay only two more pre-appilcants allowed

note that I have decided to give all the pre-applicants a bonus

you can cash this bonus in at any time, for a specified increse of a stat or soem free troops, or chance it by asking me for a "random" bonus which may result in a large or small increse in one or several things, though it could be all the stuff you didnt need to have a bonus in... all depends on how the die I plan to throw for it rolls ;)...

People always quickly sign up when they know that this NES is coming soon.

first- a big thanks to pawpaw for summing it all up for me :goodjob:

second, my condition to start this early was that AAminion update his NES ;)

third, because I know you all do want to get started, i will hopefully soon post all the current players stats for thier nations- note these are pre-made, as will all nations stats- the concept of the game is to take leadersjip of nation in the world around the time of the 4th-5th centuries CE, therefore all the natiosn have a different starting flavour to them, according to how that nations was in real life.

BTW-

To the "barbarians"remember tribes, your nations are weaker then the major nations in almost all aspects, exluding some fo the bunuses you will get with your UU, or if you use that bonus I gave all pre-sign up nations wiselly, but for the most part, count on a semi rocky start- expanding into either unclaimed territory and building up will be important, as will creating tribal federations to stop you eneimes

To the established powers Individually, the barb civs are weak, and many times will work with you to go agiasnt oneanother for the right price- but generally speaking, full blown invasions are frowned upon by them, and doing so may cause a mass uprsing- your powerful, but the entire old world of the establshed civs has been turned upside down with massive empire splits spannign the entire globe at about the same time- your powerful, but your not invincible, to go good you will need a good national stratgy, and a good toungue an dear for diplomacy, both with other powers, and the barbarian upstarts now forming into real nations of thier own...

a note on conquest conquest is going to be both rewarded, and pucnishe din this game- the conquest of land will mean spoils added to your treasury, andin some cases even troops, be they deserters from say the romans or chinese, or new federate troops with out having to hand over land from the barbarians- though one can rest assured, conquest will bring riches

the downfall to this is that generally speking, people dont liek being conqoured- and unless your retaking land that belonged to a similer people- say liek in real life, how the Byzantine empire retook a good deal of the old Roman west, you can expect that there will be resistence form the local peoples, somtimes resulting in an economy removed from your treasury to pacify the locals, or even a popular uprising -again this all depends on the cast of a die ;)

Come on now, don't wait for Minion. I want to get this NES started. How's about we work out a different deal? Say, you start this NES and I'll grant Venice overlordship over all Europe west of the Rhine? (not really ;) )

You know you want to. Hell, you need to. Start this NES. ;)

I agree with grandmaster, but i wont' give u anything...

do I want to? hell yes.

am i ready? not quite- I'm going all out on nation stats, trying to make them realistic, further more, I'm writing short descriptions of the UUs- so players know a little history about them, as well as thier specific bonuses- yes, bonuses folks- UUs will be for more then just looking pretty on your stats now, mainlly because I'm amking you people learn **** for this NES- to wage successful war, yu need to knwo the general settin gof the area your invadeing/ defending, and prepare accordinglly- most UUs offer a more versitile stratrgy to go alng iwht he standad infantry, archer, cavalry, warband, mercenary mix (mercenairs fill assorted roles in the game, usually fillign in for a type of troops unabalible to a certian civ- eg; federate troops for the romans, Roman deserters of the european barbaians fulling for the romans the warband role, an dfo rthe barbs the ordered infantry role)

more then just the play civs, I have the other civs to worry baout, though i may just give them template stats, and only individualize them once it matters, or over a short time as the game sarts, though hopefully i will have the player nations up tonight, and the entire game up by tomorrow, depending on what my plans are (last day of shcool, its me and my friends are celibrateing, I dont know how long this will last though)

Oh come on, just make it up as you go along. That's what I've been doing in stGMNES. ;)

But seriously, take your time; this looks to be a good one, and well worth the wait.

And now I'm angry that your schoolyear is already over while I still have more'n a month left.

troops, the last vestiges of the Imperial Roman Legions, however, this is
generally only on favorable terms, and on the offensive, on the defensive, the
morale of these troops sinks terribly, and more often then not, they would
choose to flee, as their defense is far less then what could be desired when
comparing them to those same Legions (Bonus against most foot troops, large
bonus if in forests of any type, large bonus if on offensive disadvantage in
open terrain, Large disadvantage is facing organized opponents on their
favorable terrain, large disadvantage if on defensive)

relying on vastly inferior supporting troops to help win the battle, armed like
the classic Roman cataphracts, but assembled by traditions of barbarians raise
noble soldiers, these troops offer an interesting mix of both worlds, fiercely
loyal , they can be counted on to defend their homelands at all costs,
particularly from the barbarians across the channel (bonus against all troop

large bonus defending from naval landings, disadvantage if heavy forests and

and speed (Bonus against cavalry, large bonus on offensive, bonus in deserts/
Mesopotamia, disadvantage against ordered infantry, heavy cavalry, and in
mountainous terrain)
Army Morale- Poor
Wonders-

Teutons
Leader- Foderick/ Norseone
Economy- 1
Culture- Non Existent
Religion- Polytheism
Army- 1300 UU, 1000 War band
Navy-0
UU- Tuetonic Axe men- 600 per econ, the semi standard of the incredibly
barbarous Teutons, they aren’t all that different from the standard war
bands of the Germanic tribes, aside form their generally noble upbringing,
though they make the distinction of being some of the most savage fighters
around, they inspire quite a bit of in trepidation in all but the most seasoned

infantry such as the like Alexander the great, or Scipio Africanus had that can

line, where it is just beginning to come into popularity among the populaces
warlords- small and swift, it offers no distinctive combat advantages against
other ships, however, it dose give the troops inside of it the step up in
launching sea raids and invasions (bonus when launching sea invasions,
possibility of plunder from sea born attacks)
Army Morale- Fair
Wonders-

so, what do you guys think?

the stats are great, u could have the chinese religon as Confusicnism, or something spelled like that

Your army morale names differ from theese nation stats and the morale list on the first page, Fair, Mediocre, neither are in that list. Should i assume that Mediocre is Standard and Fair is Good?
Also the Teutons don't have any army morale at all
:)

the rules are under going a slight re-adjustment, as over the severl months I have postponed this thing, I'm thought of new things include, and refine- the basics are still the same, its mostlly fine tuning- such as the dropping of economic rankings which have a cap at 5, for a *technically* limitless numbers based econ, and of course the added versitility of UUs and what not
