Here is a religion map with the color code in the upper left. Imageshack isn't working right now, but when it is I will put this on the front page along with the other map. Comments, criticisms, and questions are all welcome.

Very nice map. A few questions though:

1. Why divide Hinduism and Brahmanism? Is there some sort of historical background in this game that caused that?
2. How about identifying the religions practiced by the barbarian peoples, at least insofar as any of them has adopted the organized religions of the civilized nations?
3. What trend, if any, is dominant in Zoroastrianism in this world? Has the fire-temple cult caught on yet? Iconoclasm?

Kansai
Capital: Heijokyo
Ruler/Player: Daimyo and Nipponese Emporer Shomu/
Government: Feudal Monarchy
Religion: Shinto 100%
Economy: Stability, +1
Dependencies: None, Over-arch of the Nipponese Empire
Infantry (Training): 10 thousands (Good) 5 thousands Samurai (Very Good)
Cavalry (Training): None
Navy (Training): 10 ships (Tolerable) 5 ships (Normal)
Mercenaries (Training)(Duration of Employment): None
Military/Civilian Leadership: Good/Tolerable
Education: Ignorant
Age: Imperial Age
Culture: Like most of Nippon, Kansai is Japanese with little foreign influences. Their society is highly stratified between peasants and samurai nobility. For the peasantry rice is the focus of their life while for the samurai honour and war form the centre of life.
Confidence: Admiring
Infrastructure: Barely Tolerable
Projects: None
Nation Background: After the collapse of the Yamato, the daimyos of Nara rose to power in the Kansai region. The most powerful of Yamato’s successor states in Nippon, they led the movement to create the Nipponese Empire, a close-knit alliance to preserve the independence of Nippon under the threat of Tamnese imperialism. The Daimyo of Kansai is now the Emperor of Nippon, but this power is not as stable as it may seem.

I shall enter yey

Thanks for the input Grandmaster!

1. Read Finmaster's very nice stories from IsrNES2. He created Brahmanism as a seperate religion from Hinduism. It is still Hinudism, but with a much higher focus on Brahman. Given his very much more than sufficient knowledge of Hinduism, he did a very good job of defining the difference.
2. I may. For now I just wanted to do the nations as that has the most bearing on the game, but I will seriously consider showing at least some of the religions of the barbarians. Well, at least where it is different from the ethnic polytheism.
3. I'll get back to you on this. I must admit my knowledge of Zoroastrianism is more limited than I would like. It is quite young, so I'm guessing more developed aspects wouldn't have emerged yet. If your knowledge is better and you know how Zoroastrianism developed up to this point (450 BCE) in OTL, your info would be more than welcome.

EDIT: Player list up to 20!!! Woohoo!!! The more the merrier!!!

Can I have the Gallic Empire.

I have two more questions, both of which really need answers:

1.) Should I implement a centralization stat?

2.) Should I break down and write the whole several century history, thus delaying the start of the NES for 1-2 months (it is taking a lot longer than I originally intended), or should I not write the whole history and just answer things as they come, which could move the start to as early as tomorrow or the day after?

My votes are:

1) Abstain (either way, I'm fine)

2) I would prefer answering/resolving as we go instead of waiting 1-2 months. And by "prefer", I mean "kill anyone who disagrees with the idea of"

1) Yes, add a centralization stat.
2) Write good nation backgrounds, and answer questions as we go along. If need be, write a (very abbreviated) outline of how things progressed.

1. Dont care
2. Noo...I don't wanna wait :(

OK, this plus what I have gleaned from AIM conversations suggests that I should just start it as soon as possible. Since the only two people to have an opinion (one over AIM) said that I should add a centralization stat, I will add one. I am also definitely changing the economy.

So, y'all don't like my nation descriptions? :(

I like your nation descriptions and don't think we need a long summary of the intervening period.

I guess I'll sign on for the Mughals.

I wish you could jaguar, but seems we're giving sir Finn a while to claim, and then luckymoose has claim if he doesn't come.

There is always Cholas though! :p
