Weird, I was just discussing this with my Ma and she made the same point... I dont know what comparison to make, it must have been utterly mind-boggling for them
I take your point, but meeting them will be of little benefit to either society and will destroy theirs. Realistically, they arent just going to integrate and be using laptops by next year. We (the rest of the world) should allow tghem to make contact with us if they want, but I think its fair enough to leave them be, they obviously dont want any contact with the rest of us or they would have emerged by now.
"Disease is also a risk, as members of tribal groups that have been contacted in the past have died of illnesses that they have no defence against, ranging from chicken pox to the common cold."
One of the photo captions says:
"The government said the name of the tribe was not known but the warriors were strong and healthy."
you know whats mad? If you could somehow communicate to them that millions of people from lands they never knew existed were now discussing and looking at images of their tribe from 10s of 1000s of miles apart form eachother at different times of the day over boxed with light coming out of them, they probably wouldnt believe you. the concept would be preposterous to them
These are probably bitter people clinging to their bows and religion. If the Dems refuse to seat their delegates for Hillary, this can only hurt Obama.
To be fair, I doubt this is going to shake their foundations to the core... (As long as we don't fly over there again, that is). They'll forget about it, just like we forgot about the aliens that visited us in 1493.
EDIT: I don't suppose anyone's tried finding these fellows on Google Earth or something?
