Problems with forum.. session expiring?

Hello, for a couple of times I have written an answer for a thread and after submitting it I've found my session expired somehow and I'm back in login screen. My status seems normal (Welcome.. You last visited..etc.) before. And the whole answer is gone.. I cut/paste my text nowadays just to be sure

Just checked the faq with no luck. Using Firefox in XP, am I missing something important?

Can't remember what the forum displays exactly but it forces me to login back. This happens if I spend several minutes writing and then submitting.

I have cookies on, for originating web site only. There seemed to be some civfanatics cookies in a list as I just checked.

Same thing here. I allow cookies for the orginating site only, and clear them whenever FF closes. It started happening after the big forum upgrade awhile back, so I thought it was part of that.

EDIT: Happened with FF 1.0.7 and 1.5, if it helps any.

If you click the "Remember me" box when you log in, it wont happen.

Looks like that fixed it. I thought the remember me box was to keep you logged in between sessions, not to keep you in during one.

My session used to expire too if i didn't post anything for about 15 min . That is the reason i have some double post ... I finished writing the message and when i "submit reply" the log in screen appeared ... %&^#!#@ So i loged in again and then the invalid entry secreen of death appeared ... so i went back to the message and submited it again ... the same %&^#!#@ invalid error - so i copyed my message to a text to submit it later and went back to the forum ... And what was there posted twice : MY MESSAGE - i think this is the reason why everyone has double posts ... Did this happen to anyone else ?
Anyway this last week has been error free and the forum works faster than usual IMO ...

And yea the "Remember Me" never works

I used to get that when I did not have the remeber indentity enabled.

I've been experiencing all of the above. I've enabled cookies for this site and I've always checked the 'remember me'. But still I can open up Firefox and find I have to log in again or that the session expires.

I don't want to change my browser to IE, especially not for a problem like this.

i just meant not as permanent change but just to check it wasnt the browser.

I had the same thing and I solved it. Only; I can't remember how I did it ... I do remember that it was not CFC-specific; I got logged out ot MSN, gmail and other fora. In all browsers I use (and MSN is not a browser).

If I remember how I solved it I'll post it here.

lol we wait with baited breath , i know this may sound stupid but have you actually checked your computer doesnt have a virus or something?
