(proposal) Create a hybrid Spying system

Chance of capture and speed of mission.
Does it reduce the yields as well, or does it just make it take longer for more yields? eg. 1 :c5gold:/ turn for 30 turns = 30:c5gold: upon completion, extended to 45 turns = 45:c5gold:.

So it would likely just make it more likely that the spy is caught before giving any yields.
 
End of duration you get what you’ve been collecting for x turns.

Which leads to more questions!
  • Is the yields I gain recalculated each turn, or is the amount I steal set at Turn 1, and I gain that static amount each turn until turn X?
  • If I move the spy (or the spy is killed by a counterspy lets say), do I get what I've collected so far, or all yields are lost if the mission isn't completed?

Amount siphoned is recalculated every turn.

if you move spy, you get nothing! Good day sir!
 
How does it work on the other side? Does the target lose yields every turn, or all at once at the end?
 
Tomatekh's Great Spy mod is really good.

If integrated with diplomacy and the intrigue system (target is planning an invasion / building a wonder) it could work well.
Indeed I was not aware of this mod and it looks awesome. But I think, that before any integration or adaptation, there should be done clean up of current version of VP and implementation of features requested so far. After that I think would be the right time for implementing such a big functionality.
 
New version including this rework should be soon. I've been cleaning up the trade deal UI, the code for it is so bad.
 
The spy system in 2.2 is working pretty good.

Only issue I have found is that AI's will come to you with reports that other civs are coming to attack you, when it's your own vassals and so impossible.
