Dang. I was hoping this thread would have all sorts of handy pointers for me...
OK, if I give you some background, can you give me some advice ?
- Currently, we have a PS2 (used a lot), a GameCube (not used much) & 2 PCs (used a lot for games as well as web, homework etc).
- The PCs tend to be used for tactical / strategy games (like Civ, Total War, RoN, & Sims2), but not for sports games and shoot-em ups.
- The PS2 gets a lot of work on Timesplitters, Pro Evolution Soccer 5, and the various Star Wars games (such as the wonderful Jedi Starfighter one).
- The PS2 is on its last legs (problems loading / unloading / reading disks).
- The PS3 is now not out in the UK until Spring 2007.
- Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is rumoured to have better AI on the Xbox360 than on the PS2.
So, do I:
(a) just hold on until the PS3 is ready, cos Sony have always come through for me in the past ?
(b) buy the Wii as a pre-Xmas stop-gap, cos I admire Nintendo's funky off the wall games (I was the biggest Pokeman fan in his late thirties in the UK, y'know), and buy the PS3 later ?
(c) go with the XBox360 cos it's there now, I don't need Blu-Ray, and the PES6
needs to be played at its highest difficulty level as soon as possible ? And consider the Wii and the PS3 once they're out and have some reasonable games around ?
(d) Or do I just buy 'em all, because I actually have a ridiculously large amount of disposable income ?
I'm tending towards (c) at the moment. (d) is an option, but my ridiculously large income comes with the price of having a ridiculously small amount of free time to apply to console games
Views appreciated.
