Q&A with Dennis Shirk

I'm certain it will definitely be Shaka... But well, we have to wait and see...

oh they plan on actually answering our questions this time around?

For those who do not use Fakebook:

Can you post pic with borders they where talking about?

I can't keep up with you Americans and all your time zones! When is PDT in relation to GMT (and are you guys on Daylight Saving time)? Our clocks went forward a couple of weeks ago so now I don't even know if we're still on GMT or not :crazyeye:

It's 6.30pm UK time.

(We're on BST now, not GMT.)

American clocks go into summer time at the same time as European ones, so that doesn't matter. PDT is -8, so 10:30 am is 6:30 pm in GMT.

They used to be the same time, but not any more. They went into summer time some time before us, but now both sides of the Atlantic are on summer time.

Bummer, I'm not able to participate.

Would have liked to ask about Dennis if he could tell something about the new Social Policies, Exploration and Aesthetics. Also how does the new Archaeologist (unit?) work?

Would also love to hear if Pueblo have any chance to be included in BNW or later as a DLC Civ with other leader (than Pòpe) ?

A Q&A tomorrow is nice. I hope we'll be capable of getting more information about the remaining 5 civs out of Mr. Shirk. :D

I would like to know more about new ideologies and social policies.

Please don't let it be Zulu, please don't let it be Zulu!
:please:

Sorry pal, but it's the Zulu.
I wish they'd had picked some more interesting civ to reveal on Friday, somebody more interesting then dishwater.
Although the hint we got could an elaborate ruse and it's actually a cinematic of a new civ leader/unit shooting Shaka.

I still think that the Zulu will be revealed tomorrow at the Q&A, and another Civ will be revealed on Friday.

Since we all already know it's the Zulu, it seems very anticlimactic for them to 'reveal' them on Friday.

Sorry pal, but it's the Zulu.
I will not recognize that until it is explicitly stated.
Also I believe that they should have replaced them with a far more worthy civ, such as Kongo or Morroco or something else (unless Kongo or Morocco are in).
There was no such thing as "Zulu civilization" let alone an "empire".
Their achievements and impact are little and why will they be in the game?
Because of one king, a little battle and war, which they ultimately lost and they were annexed by the British Empire.

Yeah Zulus are very poor choice, but they seem to be fan favorite for some weird reason. It seems Ed Beach knows his history so I believe if it was just purely his choice he would not choose Zulus. They are not interesting and they were not historically important. Ashanti and Kongo for example are so much more interesting and deserving new civs.

Zulus -

If they have have interesting UU/UB/UA then Im ok with their choice. I just feel we already have so many aggressive early game civs. Imo new cultural African Civs could be more interesting.

Please don't let it be Zulu, please don't let it be Zulu!
:please:

Why not?
The Zulu are mainly a reference to all the previous incarnations of the game. They are a "classic" and so many fans were requesting them!

The only given fact is, that they will be a warmonger civ. Everything else is up to the developers and they may find as interesting and fun to play game mechanics for their UU/UA/UB as they dare. There is no difference to any other civ they could possibly "replace".
Oh, or ist it because they don't "deserve" to be in the game?

Edit:

... Also I believe that they should have replaced them with a far more worthy civ...

Well, I think the question is answered...
