Depends on how many people are in the car. If it's only three I'd like to be in the front to not feel like an outsider.
If it's more I'd prefer the back seat. You can have conversations with people who don't have to reserve a part of their processing power to driving a car, and the back seat is a good palce to make snide remarks directed at the front seaters.
