Questions about Brave New World that don't deserve their own thread.

The three forms of Christianity, I assume.

It came from an early interview. Maybe one in a foreign language (perhaps German), I forget.

It came from the fact that Dennis Shirk said the were splitting Christianity in the Live Stream :|

Sometimes I'm amazed how people seem to not know these things.

That's not quite fair. There's lots of info. You pretty much have to look at every news source in order to know all these things (we just happen to do that because we're Fanatics). That being said, I am more surprised by the number of people who skeptically demand sources of things I've started to treat as common knowledge. By the time they ask for the source, I've forgotten which of the dozens of sources it could have been in. I'd rather people just take our word for it ;)

What are the unique abilities of Comanche rider? I know they cost less & move faster. But what is that unique promotion they get is supposed to do?
We don't know.

Interesting, where did this info come from?
It was mentioned in an interview by Dennis Shirk, and has since been verified in screenshots.

But if they took our words for it, they might believe that the Motherland Calls is without question in the game :mischief:

Moderator Action: Not everyone follows every single bit of pre-release information. In fact, I imagine only a handful of people are abreast of everything. I don't think this should be a particularly amazing revelation, so please be nicer to those seeking information which you happen to know.

Here's a question that may be answered somewhere else:

Has the colossus been redone for Brave New World? It would make some sense for it to affect the naval trade routes now that there is no gold yield on coastal tiles.

I don't think there has been any direct information about the Colossus, but it does seem logical that the effect may have been changed to some bonus for Trade Routes rather than a per-tile gold bonus.

I vaguely remember seeing a screen where someone pointed out that the player had the Colossus in that city but there wasn't any extra gold marked on the water tiles. If I'm not making that up we know that the Colossus was changed but we don't know what it does.

I also remember this.

What? They split Christianity to Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Protestantism? But Protestantism belong to Reformation? I know that it was a great division within the Church, but it's more of a reformation than something so different. Catholicism and Orthodoxy are much more different and specific in their way and they are part of the Great Schism.

It's more because of the huge number of civs with Christianity as their favored religion than historical accuracy. Having Protestantism founded before Catholicism does sound odd, but I think the split is worth it.

Relgiion in Civ 5 is nothing more than an icon and a name, it has no historical flavour (Except first come first serve system for what religion the AI picks)

They only split it due to the huge demand Christianity has in G&K with I think about 80% of civs having it as their preferred religion

Furthermore, I'm pretty sure you can't reform Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Zorostranism, Confucianism, Shinto, in fact, pretty much all but the Christian religions.

You're not making it up, I remember it clearly. There's also the achievement that implies that the Colossus is possibly trade route-related: "Greed is Good - Have a city with the Colossus, Petra, a Caravansary, and a Harbor."
