Questions about Jews, Judaism and so on.

How does this make you feel?

When The Jews said "Never again!"; they meant to them, not other people...

For the record, yes I do hate anyone who isn't a Jew

I am an Atheist who believes that if you have a religion and follow it and not harass others of a different faith... You going to send me to a camp too?

I was thinking what to say to all this.
And then comes Ziggy and rounds it up. :goodjob:
THANKS!!! :D :D :D

On-topic.
I'm (99%) NOT answering questions about either "antisemitism" or "Israeli politics".
This was NOT the reason for this thread - Judaism in general was.

Maimonides
Yeah, I should rather add some direct links too.
I'll look into it. :D
And, WHY NOT? :crazyeye:
The more we talk about Moshiach - the more REAL it becomes.
Seriously, one of the points of Moshiach Era is "Earth will be filled with KNOWLEDGE of God like the sea bed is covered with water".
So I'm actively increasing that knowledge by creating such threads.
And making such sigs too. :D

Fasting has a double reason.
1. Most fasts are a mournful commemoration of past events.
So it expresses our grief by fasting.
2. Yom Kipur (Day of Atonement) is a different type of fast.
It's the holiest day of the year - and it is both VERY serious and yet positive.
We truly repent our misdeeds - and then we know that God actually forgave us.
And this also adds more meaning to other fasts.
When we fast - it's easier to reflect on our past actions and repent for wrong ones.
Actually, I rarely feel hungry on a fast day - while I do feel hungry if it was just an accidental lack of eating (happens, you know).

Anti-Semitic is a miswording because it ONLY means anti-Jewish.
No more on this topic, as I promised. :D

Waiting for more NON-ISRAEL-RELATED questions, please. :D

Why does Genesis define "Earth" as the dry land appearing from below the waters? And why do these waters appear in the story before either Heaven or Earth?

Berzerker
Because it says "(dry) land" not "earth". :D
Also water being a lighter thing, it needed specific intervention to defy gravity.
Now, when the surface is not smooth, we think water should be below.
But imaging taking a perfectly smooth ball of DRY LAND and "pouring" some water on it - it would result in a "hydrosphere" pretty much of the same form as our athmosphere.
We can see similar effects on spaceships or in laboratories.
Also, those things mentioned in the very beginning of Genesis are more of "elements" rather than their familiar counterparts.
A random link with translation.

it says God called the dry land appearing from under the waters "Earth", not this planet - just the dry land. And the waters were there first. Why does the water appear in the story before Heaven and Earth?

If you do not want to answeer questions on antisemitism (which appears to be an inherent part of Jewish history and culture) why did you accuse someone of antisemitism?

From what I know, Israel accepts not-ethnically-Jewish converts to Judaism as Jewish and eligible for immigration.

Proposition: leave Israel out of this thread and focus on Judaism.

Holiness has to be spread world-wide so that the entire world becomes (as holy as) Israel.
That's one of the reasons of the dispersion.
And the sooner it's done - the sooner there will be the OPENLY holy Israel in its physical borders too.

i fear that's not entirely possible in this case.

how will it be achieved?

so basically by converting every single human to judaism?
