Set your fighters or jet fighters on intercept. That's one of the option of fighters and jet fighters. The shortcut key is I.

That's weird...how come it's called vanilla and not just regular Civ 4...

And I thought Vanilla had to do with the Civ4 came that came with Warlords.

From an online dictionary:

adj.

1. Flavored with vanilla: vanilla pudding.
2. Lacking adornments or special features; basic or ordinary: “We went through a period of vanilla cars” (Charles Jordan).

In this case, its the second meaning. Vanilla is often the basic flavour of stuff, so it's not that weird that it got that second meaning.

how do you spend gold to finish production in city?????

:crazyeye:

By using the universal suffrage civic and entering a city. It's right next to the pop rush option and draft option, close to the various governor options in the bottom centre right edge of the city screen.

You also need enough gold on hand to enable the option. It typically takes 3 times the amount of hammers needed to finish the construction to gold rush the construction.

It's adopt Universal Suffrage, then click the button in the city screen at the bottom right (not all the way over).

And it's called Vanilla instead of regular civ4 because civ4 can mean everything. When you talk about civ4, you are talking about vanilla, warlords, and bts. And why did you think that vanilla had to do with Warlords?

How do you upload your saves to this website like some people do when they need help?

(PS: Same question again but with mods...)

Howmany hammers does a sacrifice of one population point generate?
It varies with game speed and hammer multipliers like Organized Religion or a Forge will also modify it. Base hammers from 1 pop, though, are 30 at regular speed, IIRC.

Next time you post (in the advanced editing screen, not quick reply), scroll down. You'll see an "Attach Files" section with a "Manage Attachments" button. Use that.

I was indeed looking for the base hammers from 1 pop, at regular speed. Thing is: I think it is 30, but I need to know for sure...

It is 30, I'm sure.

Does adding buildings in a city increase it's maintenance? (Obviously the courthouse does not.)

No. Maintenance increases as population increases, though. I'm fairly sure that's the only thing which increases maintenance (apart from the obvious distance from capital and number of cities in your empire). I may be wrong though - anyone is welcome to correct me if this is the case. :)

That's all that increases city maintenance... there's also unit maintenance, unit supply (units in enemy territory), and civic maintenance. Then inflation increases all the other maintenance by a certain percent that increases over time. Press F2 to see all these amounts.

Is there any info available of when cities are razed by barbarians? IIRC, they get sometimes razed and sometimes conquered. When does either one happen?

I've read once that some AI's are more likely to raze cities then others. The chance is stored somewhere in the XML-files. It's probably the same for the barbarians. So there is probably a random effect in razing in that they will sometimes raze and sometimes won't in the exact same situation.

After a search, I found it, iRazeCityProb in the file CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml. It's higher for some leaders than for the barbarians. So some leaders pillage and plunder more than the barbarians!
