@fbcpraise: Just a thought... maybe you have fallen into your own perfection trap?
I used to get so obsessive about getting everything perfect (eg. chopping and whipping perfectly, getting all the important wonders, etc.) that I'd spend hours on the micro-management. This bogged me down so much I started not enjoying the game. Nowadays I play on Monarch; I try to finish my turns as quickly as possible (kind-of like speed-chess), I don't stop and check every city on every turn, I automate my workers as soon as all the most important improvements are finished, I automate city tile usage unless I have an emergency (IIRC, selecting the right priorities in your city screen will also affect what decisions your automated workers make). My current game is on the faster (than Normal Speed) setting as well.
I now enjoy the game MUCH more. Also, if you find that you're losing all the time, consider going down one level... and read up on some of Sisiutil's Guides or watch some of TMIT's "Let's Play" youtube videos. They are VERY educational.
Final Note: I wouldn't put too much into that leadership qualities thing of Sid's... when you lose, you're always at the bottom... when you win, most of the time your score is through the roof, so it doesn't scale very nicely.
