You have several non standard BTS AI names on the list in your screenshot. Are you playing a mod? If so, the Diplo victory may have been modded out or the requirements modified.

overflow and +1  for 30 turns"A pretty decent article on the subject is Vocum Sineratio: The Whip. It's a little outdated, but from a quick browsing I think almost all of it is still applicable. Is there a guide to using slavery efficiently?

This game is a scenario but not a different MOD. So all the basic rules should apply...
I would say it's highly likely that diplomatic victory has been disabled in that particular scenario then. You could post a save for someone to check if you want to make sure.Like what?

)Hey all, I am playing a game with about 12 other friends and we are still early in the game (I am at work so I dont have the date in front of me, but I still have hamlets I think so not too far) One of our players is dropping out, and instead of switching to AI she asked if I would take her cities. So I am trying to decide if I should. Her location is about 20 spaces away from my closest city, 25 from my capital.
So I know they will get hit for the distance from my capital in maintence costs, and there are about 3 players boarders inbetween our land. So support is not an option from my current area.
So my question really is how bad would I get hit by taking these cities, I have 6 cities now and I got them set up pretty decently, but I don't want to have to knock my slider down to nothing by taking them. I also wouldnt put it past someone trying to unload them to freeze my income so someone else can capitalize, but I am just not a good enough player to see what I should do here.
From the sounds of things it seems you're playing in a 12 person PBEM or Pitboss game, correct? Mao is a surname. His given name is spelled "Zedong" in the modern Pinyin transliteration. In an older transliteration (Wade-Giles) his name was spelled Tse-tung. What's the name you saw?
, that was why I posted the remark, in reply to the person who noticed the name Mao. The list of names are in his thumbnail above, attached to msg 18822. The Mao listed is "Mao Tun".
