"Random Personalities" will cause each leader to be randomly assigned any other leader's personality with equal chance. So for instance, you could see a peaceful Montezuma if Montezuma's random personality was Gandhi's (or similar). Or you might see a trading Tokugawa if Tokugawa's personality is Mansa Musa's (or similar).

Traits and favourite civics are not affected by the "Random Personalities" option. The only thing which is affected is the leader that the AI "behaves" like with regards to personality.

Thanks ori and Lord Parkin. Can you see the favorite civic of a leader in the game?
I should give it a try. In normal game you have advantage because you know other leader personality and you can act accordingly. In random personalities you have to learn first :D
But the personalities are not fully random, because they are chosen from normal sets of personalities, is that right?

favourite civics are affected, the rest is true ;)
Right, I forgot about that. :)

Yes, in the civilopedia.

Yes, that's correct - the personalities are chosen from amongst the other AI personalities, they are not 'completely' random.

Hmm, I don't think so. You just have to try different civics and see if you "get lucky" with guessing which one they like. (There are certain possibilities that are more likely, for instance Hereditary Rule which a large number of leaders like.)

What is the Join Group option for and what do the groups do
I presume you are referring to the Groups in your profile. The Groups are generally for civ-related private forums; varying from discussions in team games of Civ3 and Civ4, to mod development teams. Each group generally explains roughly what they do in a short sentence. :)

It should do. But why would you want to build another power plant? There is zero point, as all that power plants do are to provide power. One power plant will give you power for the +50% production bonus from the factory; subsequent power plants will do nothing. Thus, you're completely wasting your shields if you build more than one power plant, as far as I know. :)

I build the 3GDam and a few cities had already the shale plant and was wondering if the bonus remained.
@roland, if you build a hydro plant or nuclear plant after the coalplant the :yuck: :yuck: from the coal plant will dissapear. But your right that it is a waste of hammers. better to build a recycle plant if needed.

I'm pretty sure it does. Its the building that cause it when active, not the power wich is generated.
I am pretty sure it doesn't ;) and WorldBuilder helps to solve this mystery :p :

See: the Recycling Plant just removes the Factory and Forge :yuck: but not the ones from power :smug:

No, I don't see. :p
But that is cause my browser doesn't want to show me any pictures.:(
But I believe you if you say so.

How can you be sorry for asking a "noob question" in the "noob (newbie) questions" thread? (Actually, here is a clarification: Newb/newbie= someone new. Noob= a hopeless/in denial newb)
You can carry any ground units (not helicopters or airplanes) in Galleys, Galleons, or Transports. Caravels can carry only scout, explorer, missionary, spy, or great people. Carriers can carry Fighters. All other ships cannot carry anything. Beware: Galleys need to stay in the shallow, lighter colored water directly adjacent to land, so you usually cannot carry a unit to another continent, it is mainly used for fast transportation along the coast.

EDIT: I have a question myself. When you mouse over your name in the scores box, a popup window appears showing you a summary of your score. What do the fractions mean to the right?

but my settlers dont get in the caravels...???:mischief:

As ggganz said, Caravels cannot carry Settlers (or Workers or military units, for that matter). The only naval units that can carry Settlers are Galleys, Galleons, and Transports.

ggganz, I have always assumed that those numbers on the right are the totals for each category available in the game. So you've built some of the wonders in the game, each of which is worth a certain number of points (don't ask me how that works, though I imagine world wonders are scored higher than national ones). If you build and/or capture ALL of the wonders in the game before it ends, you should have 245/245.

Mind you, I'm not sure if those numbers remain constant. I don't know if they're the total for the entire run of the game, or the total of what's available at that point.
