Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

Nat wonders are destroyed in capture ;) Gifted/flipped cities aren't captured, so if they have nat wonders in and you haven't built your version, they will stay.

It is similar for those buildings that are always destroyed in capture, like military and culture ones ( and the culture ones will give culture, unlike it happens with captured wonders ) :D

I'm aware that national wonders are destroyed on the capture of cities. By "accepting cities" I meant via diplomacy. ;)

Are you sure military buildings are always destroyed on capture? Cultural buildings definitely don't stay (except for wonders, which stop producing culture)... but military too? I'm sure I recall capturing cities with Barracks... maybe my memory is at fault though.

Barracks definitely always get destroyed. Haven't paid as much attention to Airports or Drydocks, but I'll take rolo's word for that ;)

What about HE and WP? Are those considered military buildings?

What do you have to do after an AI launches the spaceship? Raze their capital or simply capture it?
Not sure, but I'd be interested to hear the answer to this too. I would have thought that capturing would be sufficient... otherwise it'd be impossible to stop spaceships in "No City Razing" games (which are quite common, especially in multiplayer).

Airports might still stick around, since they originally weren't military buildings (before BTS). Not sure.

Definitely not. They're national wonders.

Heh, don't know why I even asked that... as no scenario in this conversation treates national wonders and military buildings differently. I know they're national wonders "first", but they're also military buildings in my book ;)

I'm pretty sure capturing is enough to stop the SS, but don't take my word for it.

Airports in BtS are considered military buildings, because they give XP... so they go out as well. In vanilla and warlords they are considered civilian buildings, so they sometimes stay.

I am pretty sure that capturing the enemy capital is enough to stop a SS, but I'm not 100% positive.

Yes, capturing the capital IS sufficient. I asked because that's what happened in the game I'm playing (LHC João Take 2). I'm soooooo happy it stops the SS.

I asked this two or three pages ago, but got no answer so I'll ask again:

How does capitulation work? Does having a vassal influence the decision of a civ to capitulate or not? If so, how?

Well if no one has specific info...

Yes, having a vassal influences the decision; I don't know the exact formula but in all my games I've gotten a grand total of 1-2 capitulations from a Civ that has a vassal. So your best bet is eliminating the vassal or pummeling the dude so much that the vassal breaks free.

I don't have specifics from the code either, but my experience backs up what Silu said--even more so. I've never had an enemy with a vassal capitulate to me. And a vassal that arose from a colony seems to never break free, so the only option is to wipe out the master or the vassal or both.

The picture does fit you. TMIT's new pic is freaky... :goodjob: MadScientist changed his?

I miss TMIT's "Cat In The Drop Ceiling" Avy; so cute. Guess he's swung to the other extreme. :)

Searched a bit, but the forums is really big so I didn't find anything... what's Vanilla? everybody keeps saying vanilla this vanilla that I don't get it :S
