EMPIRE OF CHOLA BEGINS OVERSEAS EXPANSION
Many citizens of the Empire of Chola have wondered where the Emperor would lead their nation next. Rumors abounded, from Australia to Madagascar to even the east coast of the United States. Today the Emperor finally announced the near-term expansion policy. The nearby Maldives would be formally incorporated into the Empire, as would the Andaman Islands. Expansion would continue up the east coast of India, and a colony would be established on the west coast of Southeast Asia. What was most surprising was the announcement that the island of Socotra, off the coast of Africa, would be colonized. The Emperor announced that he intends to colonize parts of the east coast of Africa, assuming the local nations were accepting of the policy.
