Random Rants ΠΑ: That's a paddlin'

In a shocking display of what-could-go-wrong wisdom, I negotiated three books with the assumption that maybe only one of them would agree. Thus, I cited immediate availability for all three.

You can see where I'm going with this.

We shall find out if the evolution of this situation belongs in the raves thread soon.
You did this, knowing that NaNoWriMo starts in 11 days? :hmm:

You know how to fix that. :)

Are you threatening to ban me? :(

Alas, I am obsessed with the pursuit of wealth. (And the deadlines are for before Halloween, so it shouldn't impact NaNo.)

I'm also doing "just" an experimental fanfic for NaNo, so it won't require too much brain power. Or so the theory goes.

I think he's saying that you can ask for a temporary ban, which will not negatively affect your infraction record.

Or you could do something to earn a real one, but I wouldn't recommend that. :nono:

I tried that one year. That's the year I learned that I hadn't done enough prep work and the story meandered around and basically went nowhere. I think I got maybe 2000-3000 words out of it before giving up in disgust.

So I learned that I really did need an outline and after November 1 was not the time for research; that's what should be done beforehand.

(note to self: finish watching the YouTube series about medieval knights and look up sheep farming as practiced in the 11th century)

First world problems:

A three pound bag of potatoes is two bucks. A five pound bag is three bucks. A ten pound bag is four bucks. I needed a couple potatoes. So now I have to figure out how to use ten pounds of potatoes before they go bad.
Oh dear, you couldn't just buy individual potatoes? What kind did you get?

I got home and realized I left my crucifix at the hotel I stayed at. I called and asked if they found it, and she said sadly no ... but maybe it got in the linens and she'll call back if she finds it. I've had that since Confirmation.

Basic russet potatoes. I needed four, which if purchased individually would have cost more than the three pound bag. I'm even less capable of doing that than I am of passing on the "seven more pounds for the price of the first three" ten pound bag.

I, uh, was digging around that site I posted earlier and

Requesting a temporary ban would be the fastest way to ensure that you don't procrastinate on CFC. :)

You're not supposed to give him ideas!

Maybe we could threaten to feed him the ground pork peanut butter cookies if he procrastinates.

How are you using them?

The four I needed are for a zuppa toscana (recipe basically stolen from Olive Garden). The rest I haven't completely figured out. I do make a really good potato soup, but it's a little early in the Autumn for two soups in such rapid succession. I've got a roast to go in the crock pot for shredded beef sandwiches and I'll probably throw a few in the pot with that to get some good flavor roasted potatoes to go with...something. The rest of the requested menu for the next few days is taco salad, hamburgers, and BLTs, none of which really calls out "roasted potatoes as a side dish please." Might have to slice some of these up for french fries I guess.

Well… donate the rest to the poor if you cannot find any better use for them.

Or are you willing to take a look at Tak's cookbook?

Rant: I need to go to work tomorrow !!!! :(

Also I'm hungry , Ideally I would like a pizza now (but I shouldn't eat that late). I guess a few slices of cheese could not hurt though ...

Off the top of my head, if you are going to eat late "a few slices of cheese" is about the worst thing you could choose...short of a bunch of cheese melted onto a pizza, of course.
