ABP went haywire for me some days ago, so I had to delete it and try a different ad-blocker. So far, so good.
Just keep in mind that some of the ads you see happen because the adbots read specific keywords or phrases in the posts and think, "Aha! That's what these people will buy!" and provide an ad they think is appropriate.
You wouldn't believe all the crap we had on the Dune forum I ran, after someone posted a thread wondering about the effects of the stillsuits on the human body (pertaining to hygiene and skin disorders). I finally sent an email asking for ads that were more appropriate to a forum that was mostly comprised of teenage and young adult males interested in science fiction, books, and gaming, rather than dermatology products suited for women.
Of course it did get a bit funny when we had a thread about the pug dog Patrick Stewart carried around for most of the Lynch movie. We got ads for purebred pug kennels, premium dog food, training and obedience lessons, and all sorts of other dog-related stuff.
