Tony Abbott is such an awful public speaker that a bloody comedian can grill him over the budget and he stutters and stammers his way through his defense. Embarrassing...

You could just go outside…

I'm surprised and a little appalled that there are people who actually like the James Bond movie Live and Let Die. It was cheesy, totally absurd, and rather racist. Apparently, the book was worse.

It is James Bond that you're speaking about.

If you're using a wireless connection… YES!

I thought that described pretty much every Bond movie. :p
None of them seem that cheesy or absurd after you've seen Roger Moore's movies. I'm surprised the franchise survived them.

As for racism, I haven't seen most of the movies in something like a decade, but Live and Let Die kinda stands out for it.

Bond movies have always been immensely politically incorrect. As well as over the top.

Again, any other Bond movies look perfectly reasonable after you've seen the Roger Moore ones. And the Craig Bonds have been a step in the right direction in terms of plausibility. No more villains trying to take over the world with laser beams in space.

I'm curious about what you say is political incorrectness in some of the Bonds, though. I barely remember most of them since I haven't seen them in so long, but I do recall that they do portray megalomaniacal rich men in a negative light. :p

Skyfall had a plot that required the most massive things to go as planned when they weren't the least bit under the planner's control.....

Hey, that was the plot of a Steven Seagal film! It was a good plot!

Oh yeah, forgot Skyfall. At least the villain's plan was just "discredit and kill M" rather than friggin' laser beams.

Spoiler :
He's also possibly the first villain in Bond history to

succeed.

My younger brother didn't know what rickrolling was (though he came across it before without realizing what it was).

I suddenly feel old, again.

EDIT: Though not that old. It could be worse. :mischief:

I said goodbye to a friend leaving for Europe. Actually, going home, probably won't be coming back.

:(

As in "will probably never ever see him/her again [except for possible vacation to said place in Europe]?"

I never liked goodbyes.

I suddenly remember telling this to one of my "supervisors" at a place I used to intern. He was only ~10 years older than me and he and I kind of became good friends, so it was kind of sad to say goodbye. Granted we're facebook friends now but that's like facebook friends.
