Random Rants LXXII - What is wrong with us?

Yeah I thought it was written in English, but literature is not my area of expertise, so I didn't challenge the consensus because I wasn't 100% sure.. or even 80% sure. I was actually trying to read Ivanhoe back in grade 4, I had a translated version all in Polish. It was the same set of books as Mysterious Island (by Verne) and the 3 musketeers, bound the same way, etc. So I was like "Cool, this should be similar then". But I didn't get past the first 50 pages or so.

Anyway, yeah, we don't really have a literary expert on our team. So when a question like that comes up we have to guess

Lots of Chicago questions. ‘Religion’ hasn't done it. At best it might be that religious people have done that. Some religious people. Most of us are relatively peaceful folks, many of us are relatively educated, sensible folks as well. Irreligious people have also committed atrocities, should we not have to respect irreligion because of that?

And that article is from almost a year ago… where does it say that there was religious motivation? It's not stated on that article.

Its stated in more news about the issue, you could use that article as an initial source to delve further.

And 8 months isn't really a long time given that people still whine about Hitler.
 
So far I've found that it's a predominantly Muslim region (already knew it) and that it's state-sponsored. I'd put it down to obscurantism rather than religion, although i will admit that the combination of the two is, as a rule, disastrous.

And I'd put your opinion down to leftist apologism.

Religious groups could nuke the entire world and you would still claim religion isn't the cause of the problem, aka Fundamentalism in CIV2.

As mentioned in the other thread (Amazon Hiring), this is highly inappropriate to track me down here, rather than going through Amazon.

There are ZERO emails waiting for me from Purolator, so James Whoeveryouare, I will indeed be taking not only the original complaint up with Purolator, but also this violation of my privacy. Looks like I'd best not mention this incident on any other forums I belong to, since it looks like this company also engages in stalking.

NOTE TO CFC STAFF: PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THIS COMPANY'S ACCOUNT HERE UNTIL I HAVE DEALT WITH THIS MATTER, AS I NEED TO PRESERVE THE EVIDENCE THAT THEY ARE STALKING ME.

It appears real, and I'm told this happens on other sites.

It's going to take awhile to deal with this, since it's a long weekend here (Canada Day is on Sunday which means most businesses will be closed on Monday).

But I'm going to get to the bottom of it with Amazon, Purolator, and Canada Post. I will make it clear to Amazon that barring a postal strike and no other options, I would prefer that they never use Purolator for any more of my shipments.

I've just come from the Purolator site and made a complaint, linking one of the offending posts here. So again, I ask any staff to please not remove anything until this is dealt with. My computer is giving me problems with screenshots.

The website says to expect a reply within 48 hours, so we'll see. They probably mean business days, but at least it's on record.
