You see, on the one hand there's the neophobes, and on the other the neophiles.

Now, the neophobes have it easy: they just do what they've always done, and because it's always (or mostly) worked in the past they save a lot of time worrying and working out what to do. But if you keep on doing what you've always done you'll generally keep on getting the same result which may be not a bad thing exactly, but it won't be likely to improve anything either. Unless things change to favour your traditional working pattern - which is really very unlikely to happen.

The neophiles however have it much harder, because they're constantly having to rethink their position on everything. And because of that they're mostly likely to be interacting suboptimally with their environment. They do, though, have a chance (which the neophobes scarcely ever do) of accidentally stumbling on a strategy that will pay dividends handsomely.

Conclusion: most people play it safe and stay neophobes.

The election dear mother of God the election.....The country may well be about to go up in smoke (or it least you would think so from the rhetoric from all sides the partisanship ahhhh)

I would like to make a prediction.

over the next few days there will be stupid people on tv who think they are the height of cleverness talking in the most patronizing way to kill brain cells about every possible way this country can be screwed up screwed over and scrunched into a ball and how 'weren't we silly for voting the wrong party'

See this is what could have happened had you voted for so and so in this constituency or by Voting UKIP you let in Labour! or by Voting SNP you let in consevative! Or by voting Conservative you screwed over Scotland!
