Random Rants : Someone is wrong on the Internet

So boss just gave several tasks to me and my coworker. They are probably pretty doable in a few years if you had a 30 man team of skilled engineers.

! That's the one with the fighting robots, right? It was a pretty cool game. I remember I wanted to buy the full version of it but I couldn't find it in stores at the time. Since you say it's been made free, I'm going to take a poke around.

Yup the full game is free now, runs in Dosbox. All the robots and secrets / enhancements unlocked.

I've been trying to figure out how to record it but I cant. I wanted to make tournament longplays on the highest difficulty after mastering each robot.

Somehow I had a totally random dream of the Jaguar robot some days ago and remembered the game. Now I cant stop playing.

Best fighting game ever made:

Link or it didn't happen. ;)

I figured out how to record it, but it was buggy. But the gameplay recorded fine (the menus died). Videos are in the appropriate threads.

I meant a link to where you downloaded it from. ;)

Theres google for that. There's loads of links to download it from.

- Download game.
- Download latest dosbox
- Run through dosbox

So today we had a cloudburst where it rained so hard for a short time that standing water on city streets was up to the bumpers of small cars. And that's in an area where the drainage was not poor. 5 minutes after the rain stopped, the puddles were gone. Half an hour later the sun was out, and I saw a guy put out the sprinkler to water his lawn.

I spent all day playing an awesome Civ IV map on marathon speed, and I completely had no time left over to level up another robot in One Must Fall :(

I want to play the Shredder, Gargoyle and Chronos fully through all tournaments on max difficulty ... But damn addictive awesome map in Civ IV.

RANT WHY WONT ANYONE WATCH MY AMAZING GAMEPLAY VIDEO!

Link to video.

Watch!

I tried watching it. It's really not very interesting to watch to say the least, imo. But maybe I'm missing the finer points of the whole experience.

The hiring decisions of my tiny American college have come under fire from The Daily Goddamn Mail. So I guess I'm ranting about the disproportionate amount of attention the hiring of one associate professor is causing and about terrible editorialized journalism in general.

Well, just finished my first day of volunteering at a hospital. Spent most of my shift running samples up to the lab from the ER.

This seems distinctly un-rant-like.

I will respond in kind by saying well done with my deepest respect for volunteering. :goodjob:

at least it wasn't one of the worst failures of journalistic integrity covering a sexual assault on a college campus ever.

I suppose it could be worse. I just find it weird that there's any international news about Rhodes at all, and weirder still that it's for a smear campaign against a woman of whom students (in my largely liberal GDI circle, anyway) have quite positive opinions. Like, if that Rolling Stone piece were properly verified in anyway, it would at least merit the attention it received, you know? It makes sense that the press would be interested in a big Southern school with well-regarded academics but some pretty iffy campus culture, which would draw attention from small Southern schools with well-regarded academics but some pretty iffy campus culture. But hiring a black woman who failed to express a fully nuanced perspective on the persistence of white supremacism in American culture in the space allotted by Twitter changes the rules there apparently.

Apparently East African giant snails are becoming a problem in parts of Florida. Some of them carry a parasitic worm that can burrow through human skin and cause symptoms similar to meningitis. They're still snails, though, so most of us should be able to outrun them.

If I could get a parasitic free one I'd love one for a pet. I'd name him Gary, obviously.
