Random Rants XLIII: So Much Whinging Your Head May Explode

My cousin is trying really hard to get my hair cut, and may be successful as of tomorrow. This is a HUGE deal for me,

<snip>

e United States, cutting my hair would be on the news all over the world. I feel like this may be the last goodbye to a shoulder full of hair that I don't want to leave. :(
In my youth I had hair that long - really only because I just hadn't gone and got it cut. Then one day I just had it all cut off without a second thought, because while working in a beet sugar factory it had got into an incredible matted mess.

Life's too short for me to be bothered about such a thing as hair. Keeping it short saves a lot of time and effort in keeping myself clean, and reasonably presentable.

When it comes to gardening, it's the same sort of thing. I like to just run a mower over it from time to time. I can't be doing with all these fiddle little flower beds that women like to go in for.

Nobody touches my hair. Unless I go to the hairdressers, obviously. The secret is keeping it at the appropriate length.

Yup. Short. There's only one real problem with short hair, and that is the shorter it is the more often you have to get it seen to. But just getting someone to run a number 2 or 3 over it is the cheapest way I've found. I've tried to do it myself, but that's a really hard thing to do. Shaving it all off is an option that some go for. And you can do that yourself. But you have to do it every 3 days or so. Which sounds a nuisance.

Some people just have it all shaved off once a year. On the yearly trip to market.

Oh, God, no! That's awfully short! It depends on the person and hair, though. There are people whose best hairstyle would be like you say, but it would be a pity to waste my wavy and fluffy hair like that. :3

well of course, all of those flocks of cut hair go to the bin, ya know. It's a waste of resources.

To the compost heap. Not a waste at all.

But yes, I suppose WIM's hair is a walking carbon sink.

Are you talking about WIM, ore someone in your life?

If the former, then...
It really bothers me when people blatantly refuse to stay out of other people's business.

If the latter, then...
The same rant, really. :p

No, she's not aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, no it still does not give one the right to get into her's or other people's business. :p

A sex romp in a public park has helped prosecutors convict a California woman of faking an ankle injury to collect workers’ compensation payments.

San Mateo County prosecutors say 29-year-old Modupe Adunni Martin reported the injury while working as a Sequoia Union High School District janitor in 2009. Martin claimed she couldn’t walk and needed crutches.

District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe says investigators caught Martin on videotape throwing her crutches into a car and running in high heels at a public park.

She then performed oral sex at the park on a boyfriend. Doctors concluded she couldn’t have done so with an injured ankle.

Martin pleaded no contest to fraud and was sentenced on Thursday to nine months in jail. She was also ordered to pay more than $79,000 in restitution.

Wrong thread.

Apparently uroshiol can affect skin in the same way as mustard gas. That was not a pleasant article to look at.

Having a cheerful disposition. And a willingness to listen to other people. Being genuinely interested in other people. Asking questions balanced with self-disclosure. Open body language. Non-judgementalism.

These are the sorts of things that tend to help.

How much does that cost at the local Target?

How do other people do it, getting attention and being social so easily, I don't get it.

Getting attention? Meh. Being social? I simply try to genuinely show an interest in other peoples affairs as opposed to using conversation as a vehicle to talk about yourself.

And I'm sure if you wrote a list of your twenty most admired people, "getting attention and being social" would rarely feature as a reason for your admiration.

Edit......@Borachio.....high five mate!
