Dear Red Sox (except Pedroia),
Please pull your own weight. Ellsbury and Cameron are injured. Please step things up. Pedroia, keep producing those awesome numbers. Even the Washington Nationals are .500. The Pirates are over .500 too. You are playing like a last-place team. Papi, you're paid to hit, and if you didn't have that big of a legacy, then you would be benched in a heartbeat or even demoted to Pawtucket. This is not you. This is a thirty-homer guy whose average is respectable, not a guy who hits like he just got called up from the goddamn Minors and it isn't working out. Also, for Christ's sake, put Lowell in cleanup and as DH once you bench Papi so he can find his stroke. At least he's consistent for RBIs. Lester, we all know you can do better than how you're doing.
Theo, you've done an awesome job with our farm system. But PLEASE make better deals with players. The only somewhat useful trade was for Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell. We could have gotten Ty Wigginton, who can hit 20 home runs and have a decent average, for a lower price. But NO. Instead we got Adrian Beltre, who only has had one successful season six years ago. We could have gotten Matt Holliday to fill the shoes once filled by Ted Williams, Yaz, Jim Rice, Manny, Bay, and guess who we got instead? Mike Cameron, an aging outfielder on his last legs. We pay a guy almost as much a year as he gets in home runs (in millions of dollars), we paid a guy millions to sit on our bench, and we're paying a guy millions to pitch like crap (except for 2008, when he actually pitched to his ability).
At this rate, we are not going to make the playoffs. Hell, we're probably going to be fighting with the Orioles for last place
