So for a month now I've been planning a vacation to Northern Quebec, basically to drive
this. Hotels booked, itinerary set. I thought it prudent to rent a car for this, seeing as if something were to go wrong, it would be the rental company's job to get me out, not my bank accounts. So I book a car. I tell the booking agent that I'll be driving, but the credit card will be in my wife's name. She says this is okay. I go merrily along. Tomorrow is the trip. I call to confirm my reservation and ask about payment, to which I get
"Your wife will have to sign the agreement, since the card is in her name."
"... she doesn't have a driver's license...."
"Oh. Do you have a credit card in your name?"
"I'm an authorized user on her card. You can call the company?"
"The card must be in your name"
FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
I learn this at like, 8 pm. Thanks, Hertz. Might been nice to clarify when I first asked that yes, it's okay if the card is in her name
as so long as she's signing the contract as the principal driver.
I think I may have a solution. May. I hope this works
