It's hard to be patriotic about something as large and diverse as the United States. Besides, North Carolina is so goddam sexy and cool and awesome that I'd be a fool to not be patriotic about it.

In most cases, I think people aren't being that serious and are just saying it for the sake of saying it.

A certain poster was somewhat embittered in a discussion about the first nuclear reactor. And some of the posts on threads that evoke nationalism are serious, I can assure you.

Virginia is both bigger and more populous than Ireland!

Virginia is comparable to Austria and Switzerland in population (94th in the world)

Virginia is comparable to Bulgaria and Cuba in area (105th in the world)

What's wrong with California other than the government? Having the largest population of the states is awesome, home of many Airsoft stores (Evike for one), and a lot of Mexican food 'n chicks.

I mostly meant the sprawling slums of some of the larger cities.

California is nice . I cannot be patriotic about my own state.. Its all rednecks and.. such... California and Washington are my favorites .

North Carolina and Virginia are both the biggest holes on the East coast other than Delaware and Maryland. The only nice places in this country are small strips of Long Island and the New England of my childhood memories that I fear to return to for fear of being confronted by newfound modern scumminess.

Idaho, . But hey I live in the only liberal county in the sate votes democrat like every election, so its much better then the rest of the state. (I was born in Seattle though.)
