Random Raves VI: Put on a Happy Face

My school was visited by a Motivational speaker today. This would be a rant, but he was really funny.

Are you coming to the Central European meet-up?

I can't, I'm on a package trip thing, not a "go wherever I want" trip, otherwise I'd be crossing the Trans-Siberian, not hopping around Scandinavian capitals.

I'm still undecided, too. The two options are as follows:

fly to Copenhagen-->boat to Oslo--->bus to Stockholm--->boat to Helsinki--->bus to St. Petersburg--->fly home

fly to Moscow--->train to St. Petersburg--->bus to Talinn--->bus to Riga--->fly home

Both are about 15 days or so. Both are really cool and tempting. If the first one went to Moscow, I'd be sold; if I'm going to Russia, I want to see Red Square. But then, I don't really care about Talinn or Riga, the only reason I'd do the second is because of Moscow. Its all very hard. And whether my girlfriend can go or not is questionable right now. :/

Thank you, it feels exhilarating to make it into my first choice. Now I can really relax about the rest of my decisions.

What do you plan on going for?

People love each other and don't take completely out of context oportunites to randomly flame each others beliefs and ideologies.

From what I've heard, the 'how many angels can dance on the head of a pin' debate was actually over whether spiritual entities can/do/must occupy physical space at all, which is a rather serious question.
Really? You consider that a serious question?
I haven't seen irony this fantastic in a long time. Thanks, you just made my night that much better. :goodjob:

I gots me a kiss.

Motivational speakers are something I miss from hi-school. They're always really funny, and we had quite a few clever ones to, although I still don't think they belong in a school environment.

<@Kraznaya>: so Scots is a germanic language right?
<+Dachs>: nah
<+jpn>: scots is a ******** language

We had a motivational speaker once who talked about the dangers of drugs and how when he was a substitute teacher, he would have the students watch movies so he could do lines of cocaine behind the teachers desk. Some time after the speech he was arrested for drug possession. The speech was something quite talked about in my school, and often remembered fondly for the bizarre stories and delivery and how he was still actually doing drugs. Theres a bunch of facebook groups made about it, Ill see if I can find them.
