Rap

Generally I dislike it, but I don't hate it. It is bad music, just like 99% of all music.
I don't mind going to a nightclub that plays rap. Nearly all of them do, so it's not like there is a real choice anyway.

its just the same as all the other types of music, boring!

I HATE rap more than anything else. I want to see all this scum dead. I'm totally serious. There's nothing lower in this world than a hiphoper. Even an Hamas leader looks sympathic in my eyes when I compare him to 50 Cent or something like that.
I've suggested to coat all rap records with contact poison. KILL THEM ALL!
They're the lowest of low. An insult to humanity. etc.
I don't care about the "music". It's the lyrics, the attitude, the video clips - plain out disgusting. The only stuff that can make me think "Hitler wasn't that bad after all" or even "Maybe the French are right and America really is the biggest threat to the world" (No USA = No "socially disadvantaged african-americans" (damn PC forum rules!) = No Rap/HipHop)

This gave me a good laugh-and I am in total agreement.

To date, the only rap (if you can call it that) song I like is Faithless' "Weapons of Mass Destuction"

I used to like hiphop when I was young and stupid, but grew out of it.

"Yo yo Im rich and I have many cars and girls, and I also have a gun so I can kill you, and you suck at rapping, and Im the man yo yo"

"fcuk the world, I don't care because Im stupid, Im a criminal, it's the fault of the society, did I tell you I was stupid?"

That said, I like the sound of some rap still, and I was actually very good at freestyle once, but the whole additude in rap/hiphop, is just too shallow and "I would be a loser, if I wasn't a rapper" like.

I like rap. I dislike hiphop, for the same reasons as almost everyone stated.

Rap is defiently not the same thing as hiphop, most hiphop just contain rap. A band like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers have done rap too, just to give an example.

I think that most rap lyrics are bad just as much as most metal or rock lyrics are bad. The problem is that with rap, if there are bad lyrics then there is nothing to fall back on to make the song "good". In rock they can always say "oh but the instrumentals were good". A lot of rock lyrics are just as pathetic:

"life sucks, the government sucks, I want to kill myself, everything is so sad"

"I hate conformity! Wear black! all I wanna do is skate!"

"I'm so pissed! i'm so mad! scream scream scream!"

"drugs are the only way out. coke is my only escape from the ravages of the media-controlled society!"

"death is good! life is bad! hate hate hate!!!!! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

BLAH, just as bad as the standard hiphop. I'm just saying that some rap is very good.

@mario feldberg:

And I suppose that this is way better then those terrible primate african americans? Note that I like rammstein, I'm just trying to point out how big of an idiot you are.

I personaly hate Rap and other Hip Hop junk. IMO, they are not considered music. There are a few exceptions however if there lyrics do not contain any profanities (Or at least offer a radio edited/clean version of there song)

So what is acceptable music to you CivGenera;? Jars of Clay?
No, I am not into christian music. I am interested in the top 40 music that are not Rap and/or hip hop .

Generally annoying, but I don't really hate it. I used to kind of like rap-rock (or as some might call it, nu-metal), but I basically grew out of it.

However, I think parodies of rap are great, because the lyrics are usually about something completely opposite to the usual "ghetto"-type lyrics of normal rap. Listen to Amish Paradise, or It's All About the Pentiums, by Weird Al, and you'll know what I mean.

I know where you are coming from.

If music is the food of love, then rap is the indigestion.
The thing with rap is the general attitude some rap fans seem to want to adopt. They change the way they speak and develop a rather peculiar affliction by moving their arms a lot in short jerky movements, sometimes apparently appearing to have lost a couple of fingers.

Having said that, I believe these rap types are actually jolly decent family people as they do seem to talk about their Mothers frequently.

I neither love it nor hate it.
Some stuff I really like, when the music is great and the flow is up to it, some stuff I don't like, but on the whole I'm okay with it...
