We just got Urbanization and Caste System.

Spotted Silver nearby.

Planted Ashur on a hill near the Iron (with border expansion). Started on walls first since we don't need Iron right away.

Building Tribal Guardsmen for now since we are at unit support. I would like to get a few for defense now and MP later even though bowmen are better for the same shields. Lack of support is very nice.

Hard to decide between Cultivator, Walls, or Wiseman in Ur.

Nineveh built monument so it will get a border expansion.

Played to 1500BC. It was very fast. 5-10 min.

We should discuss next settler position. Do we start heading for the enemy or settle behind Ashur?

played 10 turns with little happening first. We settled a little closer to out enemies and the suddenly the pink Vikings came into view, we are down a few techs, but not writing, declared

We will get dyna in 3 and should revolt immediately. We should then connect the iron and since the borders will expand. After dyna, we should aim to get either philo for a free tech or then make sure we can make chariots and those iron units.

Our capital needs to be MM, it makes now 8spt, but can go to 6spt for the other 2 turns gaining a few beakers

I think that after we come out of Revolt for the new Govt, we should go for our GA and consider an offensive against the Brown civ. It would be nice to knock them out or damage them before we meet everyone and progress is so slow. We may not really know until we meet them though. If they have defense 3 Spearmen, an offensive won't work well until we get better units.

Expanding eastward still seems pretty viable. Elephants are nice - they can road forests - they move onto the square and start roading on the same turn. Plus they are a decent attack unit and can attack into a forest and then retreat back. It would be nice to head toward them. If things look good we could head towards them and they could be our attack 4 unit. I like them better than swords which are only 3-1-1

First three turn I did nothing, except building walls and step into the hut in the east, unlucky Tribal died after killing one Barbarian.

I drew a 2 turn anarchy! We're lucky. I set research to Philosophy, even if we don't get bonus, we still get academy.

Turn 6: While Monarchy established and city order restored, our Bowman are out hunting backward Vikings.

IBT: Bad luck, Bowman on Mountain lost to a Barbarian. Ashur is about to be sacked.

Turn 7: Kill Viking champion, trigger GA. Instantly meet Iroquois in the NW. They up every tech except Philosophy.

IBT: Russian Ranger comes from East, declare. They also up every tech except Philosophy.

Turn 8: Move Bowman back.
IBT: Forget Iroquois Brave ignore woods, two Bowmen lost. Iroquois has their GA.

Turn 9: Get Philosophy, Pick up Classical Education and start Bronze due 4 turns.

Turn 10: Nothing, no attack, Bowman moves west. Tribal and Pioneer around Babylon, gonna settle East.

1000BC summary:

Weak military against Iroquois, average against Russia, strong against Vikings. The capital is making Bowman every turn.
2 AIs nearby, Viking galley spotted in south water.
Be aware of Iroquois Brave, they're more dangerous than I once thought.

I'm finishing Mump3 today and would probably need also Tues, so current order suggested by Plarq (I take it after Empiremaker) is fine. :)

wow, we got some lucky break here...and it was a great idea to start sphinx. Hope we can finish it and then enjoy the much needed rax everywhere. That will help a lot
For attacks, we really need the mounted units. Thus I would beeline there first before going for the GL1

TG's are worth building because they have no unit support. Every TG built that can replace an MP later on is +1 gpt for most of the game. In fact I would have held off on BW so we could build a few more (gone straight for elephants).

Make sure you don't upgrade TG.
