I think that we should discuss this before we make an official announcement, but these are the positions I am seeking to fill in my administration. I will also wait until Lighthearter makes an official announcement before popping the cork.

Anyway, a very interesting election. I can only assume that those who nudged me towards running for president was part of the larger scheme of things .... Anyway. Ravus has proven himself to be immensly clever. Though saddened, I respect his decision to decline the post of Minister of Faith. I don't suppose you want the post of "Minister Confusing our Enemies into Submission?"

It would be a fun position. But i don't think the AI players would be confused the same as real people

And while i could except a position, as i do support you individually, If i did except then Mathnerd is probably next in line for opposition leader. and he has PLANS.

Best if i stay as your opposing number to keep you on your toes. Mathnerd is offline but i'll get in touch with him about being my second in command. Of course if the Aegis group don't play nice i'll just step down as opposition leader. Mathnerd will appear, instantly raising the Opposition meter and go crazy with his plans.

P.S i admit nothing. Though i myself was comepletly truthtful in that i only gave you those remarks because i believed you as a sole leader could more easily carve out a compromise with the LMP and FAS zealots.

Unfortunatly RL issues forced me to be less subtle in the last hour of elections. Oh well.

Thanks LH! With that proclamation i'd like to propose The Aegis enact Emergancy Powers! Perhaps Along with Military Law! Depending on what they do. I can't fully remember. Basically i'm saying do whatever it takes to win the war and get back Ravus-York our holy city.

I think a member of your coalition has to be the one to suggest it though, But i trust Cull will do the right thing and propose it himself.

Ilduce, remember, I am the President, and I will choose how to select my cabinet. I have someone in mind for the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I have to see if he will accept.

However, the position of Premier of the British Isles is open, so anyone who is interested in that position can PM me. Your duties will be to help manage the cities and domestic actions of the workers in that territory, and you will be responsible for gathering what information you need yourself (like PMing Lightheart ).

I am also looking for a brave soul to travel to Nottingham to rally our soldiers there. After the loss of Ravus-York, I'm sure that our troops could use a boost in morale.

I will return shortly with an official acceptance speech.

Edit: Ravus, I am puzzled why you are calling for Emergency Powers and Martial Law (for note, I only think that any party leader need call for it, but I could be wrong). I do not think that either is necessary, and I do not wish to begin my term by using such harsh measures. I will only seek to activate those powers if the Empire is threatened by true disaster.

Depends on what you count as best.

• Personally i see WIM and MN as the best as their coalition is still strong and trustworthy.
• Ilduce is actually very good at spotting where the events will lead in the future and quickly deduces who will probably end up with the power.
• Aysee is also very good as that dependable sort who probably doesn't realise that pretty much everyone trusts or respects him.
• Cull could easily carve out a position as a unpredictable politician which allways gets respect.

Anyway if you want a "best" then it's probably LH seeing the power that he constantly has anyway i think the major stuff is over and LH will post results later. I know it's late for most people after all.

Seriously Ravus, I've always been baffled by why you didn't run for reelection. You could have, conceivably gotten three-four terms...

Really? I never thought so. Like i stated before being seen to much makes you seem less valueble. I allways try to do whats best for the whole English Empire and that doesn't mean i have to be the leader. Although if it was needed or i thought i could do something i guess i could run again. Never thought i would have much support if i did though.

Allright allright calm down. I'm sure later you will realise it was all for the good of england. The EP powers will help win the war. Whosit is perfect to take them BECAUSE he doesn't want them. We can trust he'll give them up later. It will be for the best. If we can use special powers to tip things in our balance and save english lives we should do so.

Now then, the speech.

Fellow citizens of England, I come before you tonight to accept the office and duties of President of the English Empire. We have all endured a trying war and a difficult election, but the time for internal animosity is over. It is time for us to combine our efforts to retake what is rightfully ours, and to show the world that nothing can diminish England's true glory!

My first and foremost priority is to serve England. Therefore, in order to fully focus my efforts on my duties as president, I am stepping down from my position as leader of the Imperial Party. Sonereal will become the new leader, and Nukeknockout his deputy. While I serve England as president, I will represent no party.

I also wish to extend the olive branch of peace to those who were my opponents in this election. Only together can we restore England; divided, our enemies will surely exploit our weakness and grind our fair citizens under their tyrannical heel. I will not see this happen.

My goals as president are simple: Regroup and restore our military forces; rebuild and expand our commercial base; seek the friendship of neighboring civilizations; put England on the path to world power. The road will be long, and it will be hard. We will have to spend treasure, blood, sweat, and tears in order to achieve victory over Rome. Many brave soldiers died in defense of Ravus-York, but I will not let their sacrifice be in vain. I will see us through to victory. This, I promis you!

So, let us unite as citizens of England! Let us mend our wounds! Let us show the world that we are strong!

Agreed, i don't remember most of them myself. They were highlighted when Arya and Mathnerd were having their standoff.

From what i can recall Military law stops all sabatoge events and may allow an extra unit in each city. It definatly stops most mild opposition actions but i think it also stops foriegn spies doing anything in LH events.

For EP i think it does something special along with suspending elections untill you give it up and letting us use a better draft system. Any unit you like for each population point whenever you want it. Could be useful the second we get catapults... I also wonder if this could be used for the town improvements. If we could exchange them for units. There were a few in england not even being used by london or Liverpool.

I'm sure i can get the GPs on board with the EP plan. It would basically allow them to cause a justified revolt if you didn't give up the powers later. Aysee will probably agree with me although he may end up as a indepenent minister anyway. Arya might not agree but with Myself, Mathnerd and WIM we kinda outvote him. I'm sure Arya too would love the chance to dethrown you in the name of the greater good as well if you refused to give them up.

@Ilduce, agreeing with Cull. Aegis got a lot of votes because people trusted Whosit, the Consortium got a lot of it's votes merely because they were voting for Aegis, not the consortium.

@Cull, Don't make a decision that's bad for england just because you are annoyed at me! Lets just agree to disagree for now and let everything settle down after the election.

@Mechaerik, You are certainly one of the best propaganda people with all your pictures. I know i shamelessly now use your Stonehenge monk one.

@Whosit, thanks but there really arn't any mystical monk powers, there also wasn't any secret plans, don't believe any of that, it all just kind of worked out... Consider it a Stonehenge miracle.

EDIT: Uggghhhh a sabotage allready!? See this is why you need military law as i just read on page one that it does stop all minor Opposition actions like sabotage. Only big ones like armed revolution can be done and i think most of those will fail unless it's done by the opposition leader.
