HR is far superior to the base one, and allow for more structure in the government than what we had before.

ALL HAIL KING WHOSIT!

1. I agree. Has the president gotten a chance to delve into it yet? I've heard that he's been a busy fellow these last few years.

2. Feud gets longbows, which by themselves are powerful defenders. However, due to the high beaker cost, I am willing to shift Feud back a tech or two.

3. Yeah, I X-Posted with you on the post where I said all of that. Other techs should come before Paper.

4. My reason for saying that was to answer Arya's question about why culture is useful during wartime.

5. Yes, good point. I was considering it because it was a size 7 city, but I never realized that it'll be very hard to keep.

1. I do hope that the King/President Whosit does get to read Currency. It is quite fascinating actually, and truly is a Great Novel of England.
2. Do we need Longbows after getting Praet-killing machines of maces and x-bows? No. Notice how I said only REAL benefit is vassalage(the civic) before. And even that is not true. In terms of vassalage versus the CS civic(b something) I think the CS civic wins with our nice capital.
3. Make sense.
4. Okay.
5. Okay.

Longbows are still very useful. What if LH gives rome a 30 stack of praets for a counterattack? Instead of being able to upgrade our archers to Longbowmen, we will have obsolete archers and rome might even get some macemen to support the stack. So then we get sc rewed.

Culture might be fine and dandy, but nothing will help if you dont have enough troops to make a defense. Culture only helps the defense thats in place. It cant be its own defense.

Our troop level has been recovering to reasonable amounts. Its still not good enough for wartime, but its enough for peacetime. We might as well make the most of what we got.

Maces and x-bows, with lots of cats. Offensive or defense, we can not lose to praets. If they bring maces, x-bows. If they bring their longbows, we have maces, with cats. If they have x-bows, we have x-bows with cats. If they have anything, we will destory them without the expensive tech of Feudalism.

fuedalism will be researched eventually anyway. Why n ot now when we can make use of the lonbows it provides? Also, if we see that russia has got it, then we will be able to force rome to capitualte to US. I am still against a vassal, but i do not want to see them as a vassal of russia. In the future, they can help attack russia, then we will destroy them eventually.

Feud takes forever. Its a lot better to wait for our tech rate to increase so we can make an easy job of Feud.

So your logic is that we should go for Feud because we're going to get it eventually, why not now? Well, for one, there are far better, cheaper techs that can, and should be research first.

Here's the ideal research assuming Rome doesn't fight back, and sits in the cities:
CS-Machinery-Aesthetics-Literature-Feud(prereq for Guilds)-Guilds

Assuming we want 2-movers, strong ones, or if Rome actually fights back:
CS-Machinery-Feud-Guilds-Aesthetics-Literature

EDIT: My opinion. We're wait for the King/President to decide the final tech plan to actually use.

I don't personally find Aesthetics or Lit that important, so I'd prefer the second plan.

Re-Edit: Don't have much time right now, but a couple things quickly.

Cull: I'm the President, not King. I interpret HR as simply a policy of increasing the prestige of the administration. Besides, we were in Despotism before, anyway, and the leader was still the President.

Feudalism: Just too expensive to both with now. LBs are strong defenders, but we shouldn't put ourselves in a position where we have to defend. LBs can also be strong attackers, as I have learned first hand, but it takes particular skill and micro-management, so that's not a tactic I'd want to pursue right now.

If LH decides to give Rome 30 Praetorians, then it doesn't matter what the hell we research or what plans we have because he obviously intends for us to all die. Speaking of, I hope that no war of escalation emerges between the two RP games. What goes on in arya's game shouldn't affect what happens here.

Edit 2: I have also read Currency, of course. I did commission Ilduce to develop a new financial system, after all. We should put Ilduce's image on all $1 coins to honor him.

After CS, and Machinery, Mr.President, would you be willing for Feud-Guilds to allow for knights?

These are two separate games. What happens here will not transfer there and vice versa.

I agree on putting Ilduce's image on all 1 pound coins to honor him.

I disagree. i think that is an honor that should be reserved for presidents, in order of presidency. Maybe on a coin worth less than a dollor, but anything that is more than that should be honoring the leader of a nation. Maybe a quarter? 1/4 of a dolloar.

I propose putting the heads of all the politicians on all the coins, with ilduce on the £2 coin, the president (currently Whosit, obviously) on the £1, and preceding presidents on higher value currency. Then put the most active posters, though I should be put on at least a £10 note/coin (no paper, remember?) for the 1st reply in the thread!

EDIT: X-Post, and I think this is now the largest thread on the Forum.

I agree with Cull on this matter. His last point was especially valid, since I consider Franklin, Newton, and Gauss to be the smartest people that ever lived.

No, the Newbie Answers one in Strategy is 775 pages. We've got a while to go. Spam away! (JK!)

I disagree with only putting presidents on the currency, I believe that having one's face on the currency is a great honor that should be reserved only for those that have made a true difference in England.

Who's on the $100 US dollar bill? Nugh said.

So? He was a founder of our country. He helped create it. he deserves it. And, i dont think that matters here. Why should we reference RL things to RP? Its in an alternante history, and with a different country. I stand by my last statement.

I disagree with only putting presidents on the currency, I believe that having one's face on the currency is a great honor that should be reserved only for those that have made a true difference in England.

I never said ONLY presidents on currency period. I said only presidents on currency a dollar or over.

If we used your strategy, LH and Ravus would be the only ones truely worthy of the honor. Everyone else has made contributions, but none that have made a nation changing difference worthy of putting their face on currency.

I support that method. Lighthearter should get the 1 dollar coin, and Ravus should get the 5 dollar coin. The coins will change to notes when we get paper. We can add more people to coins once they make differences worthy of such.
